NASCAR silly season

well, a few shoes have already dropped with Blaney going to the 3rd Penske car and Menard buying the 21 seat for 18. Gonna be hard to get used to the Wood Brothers 21 being highlighter yellow. As for Blaney, he and Larson are pretty much my drivers. Hate to see him go to Penske even though I think he will have a better chance at wins.
I dont think the win at Indy will be enough for Kahne to keep his ride in the 5.
Does RCR replace Menard in the 27, or do they shut that team down. Smart money would say that the other Dillon brother gets the ride.
What about Danica, does she keep her ride even though she doesnt deserve it?
Where does Kenseth land? Does he get a ride next year?
What are you guys thoughts?

Don't think RCR will have sponsorship. Unless he can pull in Kenneth or maybe Danica to ride around and wreck.

I have been watching NASCAR since the early 90's, its amazing to me to see how far RCR and Roush have fallen. There was a time when they were the 2 top teams in the series.

I think Kenseth will land with either SHR or maybe Hendrick. However, an open car in RCR could be a option. I also believe Bubba Wallace deserves a full time ride. As far as Blaney, I think that is a good fit for him and by fit, I mean driving for Penske. However, I can't stand his two new teammates and hopes he out performs both.

I know wht you mean, Im not a fan of Logano or Kes either. I hope Blaney at least gets the Wood Bros number 100 before seasons end, pretty sure Menard wont be able to do it.

I agree that its only a matter of time til Jr starts a cup team or 2. Im not sure what happened to him, maybe the pressure got to him. Said he wanted to step away from racing to have some time for a family, then signs to do tv. Same amount of time, or maybe even more at the track every weekend.

Stepping away gives him more time to focus on JRM and be water cooler dale... they're going to step up to cup at some point, and I think a 2 car team with a vet and a rookie would be preferable... they have the resources, but I can see the argument that driving took up too much time away from planning it the way he wants

Menards is covering 25 races, I think I read. You know its gonna be yellow. I cant remember when the Wood Bros car wasnt red and white.

RCR has fallen b/c of the nepotism, no one wants to drive for them with Childress's mediocre nephews whining about.
Danica is done, NASCAR doesn't need her anymore, and she's run away all her sponsors. The #10 car would be a perfect spot for Bubba. Kid has actual talent and could learn a lot from vet teammates in Kurt & Bowyer.
Penske arguably has the best driver lineup going forward now. Ever since they left dodge they've grown leaps and bounds.

Would be a massive disappointment... It's a classic paint scheme
For a while in the 80s and 90s the 21 was red white and blue with CITGO as the sponsor
I think they had a 7-11 car that was primarily blue and white as well
But ya, the red and white wood bros car is iconic... and a damn fine looking paint scheme if I do say so myself

its my favorite. A few years ago before Ford got out of drag racing, Bob Tascas funny car had the same paint scheme.

I hope Kahne stays with Hendrick or gets a good landing spot. I don't want his sprint car teams to be affected
