GTFO! Jimmie fricking Johnson is the G.O.A.T.! Him and Chad Knaus will go down as the best NASCAR ever. I don't even like Jimmie, and I can say that.

Oh and Jimmie has a hotter wife than you ever will.

Greatest of all time with 40 something wins? Are you high or stupid? Earnhardt, Petty, Gordon, Waltrip and others are laughing at your fricking arse. Take away the chase and Johnson ain't shite. Johnson oughta be kissing Gordon's arse for picking him to drive the 48. If not for Gordon, Johnson would be riding motorcycles at your local dirt track. You bitches need to recognize who your daddy is.

And you don't honestly think jimmie's anorexic wife is hot do you? Seriously, she's not even pretty.

Look fatboy, it's uderstandable that you don't know shite about NASCAR since you only started watching it 4 years ago. I understand. You picked the driver that was on top when you started watching. It's ok that you like bandwagons.

Here's a picture for you...

Or would you like me to post a pic of miles making out with another coach?

This aint your Daddy's NASCAR any more. Jimmie California Johnson pounds the good ole boys into the dirt, and it drives you crazy. Yeah, Jimmie only has forty wins, but how many did the names you mentioned have at his age? Jimmie and Chad will go down as the best duo ever.

Again, I don't even like JJ.

Gordon and Evernham won 47 races in 7 seasons. It took Johnson and Knaus 9+ seasons to get 47.

Possibly. Depends on how long Knauss stays at Hendrick. I don't think it'll be too much longer.

As much as I hate Jackass Johnson and Kiss-arse Knauss, they'd be stupid to break up their loving relationship anytime soon.

I agree. But I think Knauss is only looking out for #1. He seems like an arrogant sob.

Yarborough, Junior Johnson, Petty, Earnhardt, Wallace, Gordon, etc, didnt need playoffs. They won their championships without do overs.

Jimmie's the one that needs playoffs.
True, they didn't reset the points at a certain period of time, but even the "old" points system in NASCAR wasn't really all that old. When Winston first came in to sponsor the sport back in the late 70s, there were only certain events that paid points toward the Winston Cup, so a driver could pick and choose events to run in and still win, or finish well in, the Cup standings. Before that, NASCAR would run multiple events a week, you might see the Grand National Division (now Sprint Cup) run on Friday night at Pickens, Saturday night at Lakewood and Sunday at Martinsville. Again, drivers could pick and choose to run tracks that suited them the best and rack up points because very few teams had the resources (or cars/motors) to be able to run all three races in a weekend.

The amazing thing is, if you reran the seasons from '75 through 2003 using the chase system you would have the same champion either way on a great number of occasions.

As for JJ owing his career to Gordon, I think he would have eventually made it to Cup and been successful, but not to the level he has been. Look at his history of running in the Busch series. He didn't have spectacular results, and he wasn't in the greatest of rides. Jeff saw something in him and went to Hendrick and said "sign him," and Rick did. Put him in the best equipment with the best resources, and he has been unstoppable. If you had put him in a Roush car he could easily have done the same. But, given his resume up until the point that HMS signed him, he didn't have the resume to garner a top notch ride. If he had moved in to Cup with say Hall of Fame Racing or Michael Waltrip Racing, or even DEI I don't think you have him as the 4 time defending champion.

Excellent post. Would also like to add that Jimmie & Knauss were given Gordon's race winning cars from the previous season to drive their first year or two.

I bet there's a number of drivers that could get into a car setup by Gordon and win races.
