6' would have been our biggest guys of course. I grew a whole 3" from jr high to adulthood. Seldom hit my head on low hanging objects though.

I bet I know why, too. "It was no fun." Good for you, dad.

My stepson was over 6' tall at 14, and probably about 190

He would kick your son's arse

I think you worded this incorrectly...because the above is a symptom of this generation's parents. Everyone gets a gold star...your child is the center of the universe just because he is yours.

I think you mean't you are proud of your son because of his independent decision.

You made a post on More Sports Board about how good of a dad you are and gave unsolicited advice on how other dads can be good like you. You have a bible verse in your signature. You go on to recount your meetings with celebrities and their words of wisdom. You throw in "Love God, hunt ducks" as if we should commend you for that. edit: Now that I think about it, you must be a troll. Nice job. I'm not an easy one to troll.

You read waaaay too much into that bro. A self righteous person would want a pat on the back, or would post like this all the time. A man that wants to encourage men to be better fathers makes a post like this. Have a good one mr ham. Not sure why you are so bitter. It's something worth looking into.

If your name indicates where you live, we have probably crossed paths before.

My brother played at lsu and the nfl... He takes pain mess daily and needs help getting up the stairs. I had lunch with Jerome Bettis and he said he wished he would have pursued his first love... We are taking the Phil Robertson route... Love God, Hunt ducks. Pretty sure the decision wasn't gay
this post is not getting enough love,, 4 brushes with greatness PLUS a God reference in one short post.

reminds of the time I was putting ice in my Yeti and Neil Armstrong offered me a ride on his spaceship. But I had plans to hang out with my cousin Elon Musk who had his own spaceship. A week later I was ask by President Reagan to chair a committee on badassery . And that how I became the Fonz. Praise Jesus

110% disagree there. Those 98% of kids that don't pursue the sport past high school learn valuable lessons about networking, teamwork and making adjustments after losses that will stay with them a lifetime.

The only way he's becoming a reality tv star where you live is through highschool football.

Maybe he might like soccer? IMO, it's the best sport on all levels, all action, no timeouts, no concussions(or extremely few), yet it's still tough and exciting.

I played soccer, basketball, and ran track in HS and not once did I pick up a football. My dad was a college player and could have played pro, but decided to open a business in order to ensure his family was taken care of. He never once encouraged me to choose football, only that any sport I did choose I give it my all and never quit.

Sounds like you're supportive and that's what he needs, it's tough to make a decision like that.
