My idea for a "Boo Peja" movement at the Hive

Has a crowd ever tried to shame a player into retirement?
It's pretty much an accepted fact that Peja Stojakovic is a $14MM anchor that is dragging the Hornets down. We can't do shite because of his horrible contract, and he can't even hit an open 16 footer anymore.
I know that he is just doing what every other player would do in playing out his ridiculous contract, but why the frick do we fans have to keep cheering him when he is introduced, when he exits the game, etc?
Surely with a little pushing and prodding we could get a "Boo Peja" movement to take flight? Maybe I'm just daydreaming but I really would get goosebumps if the Arena would in unison boo that useless prick everytime he steps foot on the floor.
Let's get this fricker to accept a buyout. I know it's just the alcohol talking but man I hate that goofy fricker.

Because he cheats on his wife and accepts money that he doesn't earn.
I wouldn't give a shite if he wasn't the most useless starter in the NBA. I fricking hate him and I want him to retire or accept a buyout.
He's ruining our team and he knows it. If he retired we would instantly be contenders with 1 or 2 good signings/trades.

I just can't believe that a guy who was once the greatest shooter in the world doesn't have enough pride to realize that he's killing us.
He has gone to work with CP3 for over 4 years now. He sees how bad this is killing Chris (and our franchise by proxy). He needs to realize that he's got tons of money and he is the #1 problem with this team.
He can even accept a buyout for half his salary and then go play in Europe to make up the other half. Think of what we could do with $14MM in cap space.

At this point though, isn't he more valuable to us as a trade chip next year with the huge expiring contract?
Say he went into retirement today, besides saving shinn the money what else what it do for us? Who could we sign with him not on the cap at this point?
I know your a season ticket holder and don't want to see a shitty season courtside, but after firing your coach 9 games into the season and naming the GM his replacement, what are we really hoping for this season being in the West? A 7th or 8th seed and a drumming by the Lakers?

I get the thread is suppose to be 90% kidding...well maybe 70% on him , but in reality if Peja said I'd take a half buyout could shinn really afford this?

Yeah we're still like $3MM over the luxury tax I think.
So if Shinn keeps Peja and we don't get under (by shedding other deals) that is roughly $14MM to Peja plus another $3MM in luxury.
If he bought Peja out for even $9MM it would be worth it, because Peja isn't worth $8M or even $5MM with his shitty production.
You raised a good point about his trade value but it's not worth shite until next season. It's a decent consolation prize but it still sucks.

a buyout still counts against the cap
he has 29million reasons to show up everyday
if he was bought out for 20million you can stretch the payments out but they will still be on your cap. so a 4yr buyout would be 5million a year on the hornets cap

Yeah and I was thinking about it some more - if he retired the NBA Players Union would probably send some goons to break his kneecaps. That would weaken the union by setting a precedent of guys doing the "honorable thing" and would hurt the players in the long run.
He essentially "earned" this contract from 2000-2003 when he was the "Greatest Shooter in the World". It's the Hornets fault, not his.

I would hate for Peja to retire. His contract will actually be valuable to the Hornets next year.
