Having a vet team like San Jose worked, most of these guys know how to get ready quick, and less games+ no preseason= older legs stay fresher.
they looked old and slow in playoffs, last year. short season could help them tremendously.

Isn't the Oilers Flames tonight?
I loved watching their brawls.
I wished they would go back to old playoffs that way my Habs have a real chance at another Coupe Stanley. But I take solace in knowing the Leafs will never win one either.

IF and I mean if, the Leafs win one they still won't be half way to the total that the BBR have.

The Battle of Alberta is what made me a hockey fan. The Flames and Oilers played in some wars in the 80s.
This is more of two teams passing each other in the night. Oilers are on their way up, Flames are going to be very bad for a very long time. The damage done by Jay Feaster is going to take at least half a decade to undo. Probably a full decade.

I think Keenan destroyed the nucleus of that organization. Sure he got them to deep runs, but he sacrificed the future. He has done that now in NY, STL, CAL, and probably NBCSN.
