Isn't the point of watching sports to be entertained? If a guy is boring then he really isn't doing anything for me.

As to the Gasol being a top 10 player, it came from some rankings crap that ESPN put out before the season. I agree with the sentiment that Gasol is a top 3 center, but you'll have people here soon saying that he's the best center in the league, without a doubt.

I agree with Curry for sure, it seems everyone loves Curry, but I know several people who can't stand Dirk and Tim Duncan. I for one can't stand Tim Duncan, that is partially because I'm a Shaq fan. I will never forget that shot he put in Shaq's eyes in the finals. I also never liked him because that big eyed look with his hands out he always gave the refs when they made a call he didn't like. I respect his game though.

As a spectator... sure its about being entertained. Im entertained when I watch Duncan go to work. His game is a lost art in modern day basketball. Hes the most fundamentally sound player in the league and has been his entire career. I like watching good basketball. Duncan plays great basketball. I hate watching Griffin trying to shoot a 15ft jumper. Sure its cool when he dunks, but it counts the same as a layup.

If you were a Spurs fan, you would never say I dont like Duncan because hes boring. And when he was younger he was throwing it down on people as well. Hes 37 now, and doesnt have to do that to be successful.

But the point of playing sports is to win. To win, youve gotta be good. Duncan has succeeded both individually and on his team. Its about the outcome. Regardless how you do it. And he def gets the desired outcome.

And regards to Gasol, was that list about the best players? Or most important players to the team? Because Gasol is top 10 in importance to team success. Im not saying hes the best C in the game, but I would take him over Dwight. Same with Noah. I just prefer their complete game.

Points per game, Dwight is better. But not by much when you take into account the assists and points that Gasol and Noah are responsible for. And they have less turnovers than Dwight. And they arent a liabilty at the FT line like Dwight is.

I can promise you that 99% of Suns fans hate him and anything to do with the Spurs.

The list was best players, and Gasol was listed above Kevin Love.

I agree that Duncan is great, I just don't like his style. It's really just personal preference. If I'm rooting for my own team I don't care how they win, I just want them to win. If I'm watching other teams I'm really just watching for the entertainment factor.

Dwight is responsible for points he doesn't score, too.

He's always a threat under the basket, which opens up the floor for the other players. He has a big impact on the offense. So that line of thinking doesn't really hold water. Plus, Gasol is only averaging 1.5 more assists per game than Dwight. So it really doesn't make sense.

And Dwight has improved his free throw shooting. Dwight changed his form slightly on January 29th. Since then (15 games), he's shot 65% from the line. That's a respectable percentage for a big man, and is much better than the 49% he was shooting with the Lakers. It's part of the reason why Houston has been winning so many games as of late.

If he was surrounded with a such a good shooting roster as Dwight is that # would be much higher. Plus Marc's numbers have been down because he still nowhere near 100% and Conley's shooting slump isn't helping those assist numbers.

They play two completely different styles when it comes to offense. Marc leads the league in touches in the high post, you could probably count the amount of times Dwight catches the ball in that area on one hand.

The Rockets don't have a great shooting roster. The Grizzlies are right in front of the Rockets in 3 point shooting percentage.

Grizzlies: 35.6%
Rockets: 35.5%

So that argument doesn't make sense, either.

P.S... his assist numbers aren't really down. He averaged 4.0 per game last year. 3.6 this year. So just barely.

LINK

Y'all are #1 in the league in 3 point attempts, we are dead last. The Rockets have attempted nearly twice as many 3 pointers as we have.

We also play at the slowest pace in the league, which leads to less possessions for Gasol to add to his assist totals.

I'm not trying to get in this argument again. I was just saying Marc's assist #'s would be even better if he played in a more open offense, but that isn't our style at all.

Dwight averages 1.8 assists per game. While kicking out to Parsons and Harden. 2 of the best shooters in the game. You put Noah / Gasol with those guys they would average 5assists per game.

And Gasol / Noah typically are playing at the high post. Dwight is always at the low post.

Noah - 12pts and 4.8 assists. Hes responsible for at least 22pts per game. 18.4 usage rate

Gasol - 13.7pts and 3.7assists. Hes responsible for at least 21ppg. 20.6 usage rate.

Dwight - 19pts and 1.8assists. Hes responsible for at least 23ppg. 22.6 usage rate.

And Dwight averages 3.3turnovers per game. Noah - 2.3. Gasol- 1.8. Noahs assist to turnover rate is +1.99. Gasols is +1.90. Howards is 0.56.

Noah is shooting 72% from the FT. Gasol is 80%. Howard is 55%. And is a career 57% from the FT. So the odds of his % staying at 65% arent too good.

And I agree Dwight has def improved his low post moves. But still has no range at all. Dwight has made 425 FGs this year. 419 of those FGs have come from within 10ft.

Dwight - 4 years, $87.5m. Annual salary of $21.8m

Noah - 5 years $60m. Annual salary of $12m

Gasol - 4 years $57.5m. Annual salary of $14.3m

Dwight isnt worth $27m / $9m annually more than Noah or $30m / $7.5m annually more than Gasol. And just for fun, Asik contract is 3 years for $25m. Annual salary of $8.3m.

And, believe it or not, I dont dislike Dwight at all. Hes a really really good C. All of these guys are. I just prefer Noah and Gasols skill set more so than Dwights. I like a big that can play 18ft away from the basket and beat you with his mid range game. And a guy that has great vision and passing ability. And Gasol / Noah have way better contracts than Dwight does.

Yes, the Rockets are #1 in attempts, but are right behind the Grizzlies when talking about percentage.

You said it's because of the Rockets' great shooting roster... which is false.

If your argument was based on pace, which means more possessions, then I'd agree with you.

But that wasn't your argument.
