Washington is probably more hated than a lot of people recognize.

Really? Is that a West Coast thing? To me, it's kind of like hating Iowa. Do people really care enough to hate?

Terrible list. I'd replace

ACC: FSU now, used to be Miami
Big 12: Texas with OU a close 2nd
B1G: Ohio St
Pac 12: USC

Huh? Why?

Ask any B1G fan and you're going to hear Michigan more than any other team.

ETA: Having read the thread seeing a lot of OSU and PSU. Understandable. People dislike OSU because they're so damn good all the time, and PSU is obvious. Michigan hatred is because of the persistent bravado of greatness, despite being utterly average for much of the last decade. I will say though, I kind of find Harbaugh entertaining.

Probably only Oregon fans. They despise UW.

Most Pac fans probably like UW and like going to Seattle for a game.

The more under the radar hate in the Pac is Stanford. I don't think there is a Pac fanbase that doesn't loathe Stanford and their arrogance and rightous attitude about being Harvard and winning the Director's Cup every year by dominating in all other minor sports.

I understand that. They're the Ole Miss of the Rust Belt. They're a public school that acts like they're better than your public school. They have 1.5 national championships in the AP/BCS/Playoff era, compared to Ohio State's 4, but they and television act like they're the bluest of the blue bloods. They got invited to BCS bowls they don't deserve because Michigan. Charles Woodson and probably Desmond Howard didn't deserve their Heismans. And then that whole "Michigan Man" thing. Les Miles is a "Michigan Man." Not sure if you're supposed to be proud of that.

In most cases this would be true, so I'll give them that. Every last person in the Michigan circle that we run in is successful as all get out. I make a damn good living, but I'm not in the top half, or hell top 3/4 of the group.

Michigan hatred seems to be building back up because of Harbaugh douchiness, but I really don't think there is much dislike for U-M outside of Columbus and East Lansing because Michigan has sucked for a decade. Urbs and his band of merry men are far and away at the top IMO. I don't think Michigan alums are too bad -- I've learned that it's actually Downriver Dave who roots for U-M and works at Quickie Lube, yet rips an MSU education, that really upsets Mich St. fans.

It is interesting that the conference seemed to have unified hatred for Crean.

I have never known any hatred for Wisconsin other than from MSU for a few years due to the Izzo/Bo rivalry and a few of those tight football games.

The Michigan attitude is something to behold, especially from the guys that work in the Athletic Department. Some act like Bo is still guiding them. But on that point when Bo said "I want a Michigan man coaching a Michigan team" after Frieder took the ASU job, I understood it.

But I like watching Michigan football just because as a kid I liked their uniforms better than I liked Ohio States. Also that Big 101 thing tOSU had going irritated me also.

I would go on record that the Michigan disdain extends well beyond those two schools. It's definitely there in Madison, despite our lack of recent games against you guys. I really think it's the elitist way most Michigan fans carry themselves despite any real recent sustained success. There are a couple in our group of Michigan friends. But I find it funny because I'm friends with them.

And fully agree on the Walmart Wolverines...they absolutely do not help your standing, but there are also a lot of hangers on because of the Michigan history. More casual fans than the average B1G team.

Agreed. Our hatred of him preceded IU because of his time and douche baggery at Marquette.
