Beltran and Pujols had a heck of a duel in the 2004 NLCS. Pujols hit .500 in that series.

Clutch may be fake, but choking is real.

He goes nuclear in the playoffs.

This is true; unfortunately, many people remember him striking out on three pitches with the bases loaded and two outs in the 9th inning of NLCS Game 7 more than all of the good stuff.

I see what you are getting at here but it still David Ortiz. When you look at all the postseason home runs and huge hits, it goes beyond that, really. They aren't just postseason hits they are bottom of the ninth inning hits. Or a grand slam when your team is down by four runs. Ortiz has done this so much it defies logic at this point.

There's no need to sum the lists. The 6 games in which Murcer had a WPA > 800 is included in the > 700 list.

I actually think using WPA is a great idea, as that impacted your chances of winning the game. I think > 750 is probably the best definition, as that means you were half of the game's WPA (because each team starts at 50%, being at 75% yourself means you got your team halfway there on your own).

And a list with Brett, Helton, Murcer, and F Robinson at the top makes some sense.

What is defined as clutch? Type of game? Situation in the game? Count?

Well its the same old argument when it comes to QBs...what is clutch?

I think in these arguments...clutch is a synonym for rising to the occasion in the biggest moments on the biggest stages. That's pretty much people are talking about...not about hitting a double to win a game in May.

You mean a third inning single in May (pictured) isn't clutch?

Could have fooled me.
