I like Boom schadenfreude day as much as anyone, but this was a pretty good rebound job from the disaster Rockets last season. Morey made his team appreciably better this season. It's not his fault that the Rockets gave away game 5 and then no-showed game 6.

Why do people keep bringing up the Pelicans?

It was a good season with a sour end. Everybody is going to have a sour end except one team.

I think Ibaka would be an interesting addition for Houston. I'm not familiar enough with their cap situation to know if they could add him, but Ibaka would help sure up some of their weaknesses.

He improved them immensely in terms of regular season performance, but D'Antoni has had about as much post-season success as Alvin Gentry and Morey has effectively eliminated the rockets from acquiring a second star player unless they give up assets.

Probably due to the guy with the Pelicans icon to have an example that is meaningful to the person you are talking to.
I have nothing against the Pelicans but if you name any team you can tear apart why they won't be able to compete with the Warriors.
Even the Cavs window to compete is closing as Lebron ages.

Cap is gonna be around ~100 million and 83 million is being split between Ariza/Williams/Gordon/Anderson/Harden/Beverly.
87 mil in guaranteed money for next year. Only losing Nene who I assume is going to retire.

I don't think you are a failure just because you lose to the Spurs. The Spurs have made a decade and a half of taking away what you do best. The Spurs's ability to do this reminds me of the Patriots. They make options other than one beat them. Many times, the teams they face can't do that.

That's pretty fair.
I don't think he's elite but he's definitely solid.

So y'all got 14 million to spend. That's not a lot in today's day and age. You think y'all are going to convince a player better than Ryan Anderson to come over and make 6 million a year less than him?

The comment about the Pels just really shows that HOU fans are salty after last night, which is understandable, but not a very good look.

Your arguments are terrible.

I think the Rockets are going to be a top 5 team for quite a few years. I don't know if they'll be able to take the next step but they have some tradeable assets and may get there.
I don't see anyone jumping the Warriors without injuries for quite a few years.

I was only looking at the specific post he replied to and brought up the Pels.
Carry on.

It is a big improvement. They were able to avoid GS by being better in the regular season.

It's just flaming a team with the third best record in the league. They just lost to the second best team. I'm just asking what teams people would rather be.
There isn't much to argue with when being a top 3 team isn't good enough and the GM is a failure.
I'm not sure if you guys are unsalty or look good... but the narrative is just silly.

If the Rockets win a competitive game 1, I think the reaction is different. After game 1, it looked like the Rockets were going to beat the Spurs's brakes off. Credit the Spurs's staff for making very effective adjustments

Mocking an executive who put together the 3rd best team in the L record wise that just lost to the 2nd best team is plain fricking troll
Even funnier considering he's a Pels fan and Morey's left nut is a better executive than dell demps.
You're not good at low key trolling shell
