I don't think Morales is going anywhere to be honest.

Morales is an interesting one, who could get a decent return for the Mariners. I would think they would rather move Ibanez first though.

And I forgot about Pence. He fits into exactly what the Rangers need, but he will probably be the most expensive guy to try and get, prospects wise.

I think it's more about them thinking they have a shot to make a run in the 2nd half. They were scouting Peavy the other day which tells me they plan to be buyers.

We'll give you Byrd for a few mid-level prospects.

They aren't going to make the playoffs. And they will miss their chance to get some decent returns for the few players they could unload while still being set-up to be competitive next year. But Morales is probably going to be apart of their future plans.

More than likely its going to be one of Rios or Pence. Rios would probably take less of a package to acquire.

It's worth keeping Morales unless someone overpays because he can get them a draft pick

This. The Mariners would like to have Morales on the team for either the qualifying offer or a friendly deal if the market isn't strong for him. Worst case scenario is getting the draft pick so a team would have to give up an equivalent prospect and then more to make it worth it.

It would be so nice to have Morales on the Rangers, but he's definitely a very long shot.

After the Garza trade, I think Rios is probably their #1 choice so they don't have to give up too many prospects.

Unless they know Cruz is about to be suspended. In which case they might go after a bigger bat;

#Cardinals willing to offer Matt Adams, Keith Butler, and Michael Blazek to #WhiteSox in Peavy/Ramirez deal.

#WhiteSox want top pitching prospects (Martinez and Wacha) but are willing to work with #Cardinals if not available.

An executive with another major league club said he thought the Red Sox were the favorites to land White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy, although at the moment, the asking price from White Sox GM Rick Hahn remains very high.

What will it take to get a deal? The executive said he believes that in the end, the White Sox probably would take a young starting pitcher and a lesser prospect from the Red Sox in return for Peavy, who pitched into the eighth inning Thursday in his second start since coming back from a rib fracture.

Rios, though, refuted that he gave anyone any indication that a trade to the Yankees was off the table. “He should get his facts right because it puts me in a bad spot,” Rios told CSNChicago.com’s Dan Hayes. “I was never asked about that. I don’t know where he’s getting his insights.”

It’s was assumed the Cubs already moved their biggest chip when they sent Matt Garza to Texas, but work came down from FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal on Saturday that they’re listening to offers for Jeff Samardzija.

Samardzija and the Cubs discussed a contract extension over the winter without getting very far. He’s making $2.64 million this year in his first season of arbitration eligibility. He won’t be eligible for free agency until after the 2015 season.

This could be big and draw a bigger haul than Garza

I like

Samardijiza is great but he's the type of guy someone would hugely overpay for right now.

Especially being under team control for a couple of more seasons. Teams will have to give up a lot to get him, just wonder if Cubs ask for the moon and stars for him making him untradeable

The Rangers are not planning to bring back Michael Young. Major League sources said a trade for Young between the Phillies and the Rangers is not going to happen.

If the Rangers can get turned around, they could revisit these trade discussions in August. Players need to clear waivers before they can be traded after Wednesday’s Deadline. But there is a good chance that at least some of the players being talked about will clear waivers or be in position to be claimed by the Rangers.

The Rangers have not ended discussions with other teams, they just appear to be having second thoughts about the value of making a trade right now with the way the team is going.

Oh please let the Braves get Peavy.

My buddy is an ATL fan and cannot stand Peavy and does not want him, his meltdown will be awesome.
