I definitely like having him on the club. Always seems to get a timely hit.

DeRosa from MLB Network saying CWS and WSH might make a good match with this blockbuster:
Sale and Eaton for Ross, Giolito, Turner, and Robles.
All I would say is holy shite!

Mark DeRosa is a waterhead. Put no stock in speculation from people on TV.

Right, but that's the kind of deal Ibwant to start seeing. Enough playing around, let's see some teams drop some bombs.

Don't think it's happening this year. Sale is going no where. Yanks may do some dumping but Heyman keeps saying no big names will be available so we'll see.
Could be one of those stand pat seasons.

Don't worry. Dusty is about to sell the farm for Aroldis.

Word from 105.3 the Fan in Dallas: Rangers and Rays not matching up. Tampa wants Profar for either Odorizzi or Moore. Jurickson is the No. 1 target for Tampa, but Texas is only willing to include him in a trade fro Chris Archer.

Are they still talking or have they completely broken off talks?

the MLB insiders keep saying there wont be any big deals
The every day joes who cover teams claim there will be some blockbusters.

Arlington is handling that properly then. For now, at least.

The Astros are looking for left-handed relief help and asked the Braves about Hunter Cervenka as a fallback option if their primary, more established targets don’t pan out. Fellow left-hander Ian Krol has gotten some looks for the Braves as well, Rosenthal notes, though I’d personally imagine that Krol would have a higher price tag, as Cervenka has walked nearly six batters per nine innings this season and has limited big league experience.

Would be surprised if Luhnow doesn't deal for a LOOGY.

MLB Network saying the #RedSox are talking to #WhiteSox about Chris Sale, Jose Quintana, Joe Smith. Chasing a Sale-David Robertson deal.

Give up essentially your top 4 prospects (Ross doesn't really count as a prospect any more, but he's only 23) for Sale and Eaton. Can't say I like that move at all.

The counter argument is that the Harper window is through 2019 and you have to go for the whole fricking thing. This locks up a Scherzer/Strasburg/Sale/Roark + 1 rotation for that span.
Not saying I'd do it but I get it.

The Giants have also checked in on Cashner, according to FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman (Twitter link), though San Francisco is more focused on adding bullpen help before the deadline. The Dodgers don’t appear to be in the mix for Cashner as they “seem to be aiming even higher” for a rotation upgrade, which Heyman speculates could be Chris Sale or one of the Rays’ starting pitchers. In another Heyman tweet, he writes that the Orioles and Blue Jays are thought to be the leaders for Upton.

Here's the problem with trading Sale - near impossible to get full value, which consists of:
1)Status as top 5 pitcher
2)Control for another 3/4 years
3)Annual contract well below market value
Contenders need a really good pitcher, but they don't necessarily need a top 5, so they may not be willing to pay for a top 5; 3/4 years of control isn't that important now when you're trying to win a WS; most of the contenders can easily afford a high contract, so they aren't willing to pay full prospect price of a cheaper contract.
So much of the value that the White Sox receive in Sale is under-valued by other teams. Very difficult to get a meeting of the minds, much less in July when sellers rightfully expect to be overpaid.
