maybe change of scenery will help but he hasn't had a good year.

it doesn't matter, Texas won Trade deadline day by a mile. Love what they did, wow.

Holy shite, I just put 2 and 2 together.

Good insight, as always. Especially this:

Getting anything for Tate, a college closer who can barely crack 90 on the gun and getting shelled in low A ball, is a huge win. They already squandered the #4 pick, might as well get 3 months of Beltran for it.

We bears have to stick together. I also like Three True Outcome hitters who, by and large, tend to be Fat Guys.

Tate was throwing 96 in march and hit 99 last August. Hard to write him off. May never be a top of line starter, but could go the way of "failed" starters like Wade Davis, Andrew Miller, Aroldis, and Delin Betances..

Yeah Tate and Brinson for sure have taken steps back this year, but I bet one of them is a solid MLB player in the future.

I'm just glad we got what we did and still have Gallo, Mazara, Guzman, and Profar. Well done Daniels.

Brinson

He compares a lot to Leonys IMO. Elite defense, but below average bat. However, Leonys has been good this year with Seattle. Brinson is a lot like Joey, big time power, but not much contact.

Okay, I've been trying to picture Beltran in a Texas uniform and I just can't do it.

I'm 100 percent buying one of his shirt jerseys though

They don't have to announce the trade correct? Just have it checked in MLB.

Now to trade they have to clear waivers right?

I believe so. Not exactly sure how the waiver trades work, but I know Texas did it for Alex Rios several years ago.

teams can claim a player. Then, every single team with a worse record is given a chance to claim that player. If no one else claims that player, then the two teams will have a chance to discuss a trade

If the Cubs claimed player A from the pirates, every single team in baseball will be given a chance to claim to player A. If no one does, then the Cubs and the pirates will be given a chance to work out a trade
