I'm very interested to see what the Reds get for him as to compare it to what we paid for Paps.

Both are 8 month players - Pap and $4M costs a #10 prospect. Crazy that people are talking two top 5's for Chapman and no cash

is he THAT much better? Yes he's 7 years younger, but does that matter for 8 months?

Chapman is arbitration eligible for the final time this year so not a FA until 2017

If presented two trades, Papelbon for a #10 prospect or Chapman for two top 5 prospects, only a fool would choose the latter.

Cubs also talking Tyson Ross with the Padres, Tommy Hunter with the Orioles and Julio Teheran with the Braves.

Reds are under no pressure or obligation to move chapman right now. Why wouldn't they ask the world for him?

Cubs would have to give up a bunch for Carrassco I bet. He is cheap and under control for years.

There's a lot of posturing between the Padres and Cubs right now. First, Padres are saying they might not sell and then the Cubs start showing interest in other cost controlled pitchers similar to Tyson Ross.

Sources: #Mets worked into night on trade for #Reds’ Bruce. Expectation among many in industry is that deal will happen.

There's no way preller is allowed to be this stupid twice in one year, even if it is his first year on the job.

He'll be in full sell mode by noon.

When the dust settles someone needs to do an analysis of the delta in health of the Padres big team and farm in the last calendar year.

I can't take anything seriously when it involves a Mets rumor.

That being said, I would hope that the Reds would get something in addition to Wheeler. Bruce is under control at a reasonable price for awhile, while Wheeler hasn't come back from TJ yet.

Seriously. Unless today goes swimmingly for them I can't imagine it'd be a pretty picture.
