If this guy hits.... How do Browns front office members keep their jobs.

Apparently is also having a good mini camp.

When the Bears traded up one pick to the No. 2 selection to draft UNC quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, most analysts imploded. Chicago the joke of the first round.
According to CSN Chicago’s John Mullin, general manager Ryan Pace may end up having the last laugh.
Mullin spoke with two AFC scouts about their grade for Trubisky. Their response should have all Bears fans giddy.
Two AFC scouts revealed that they had the highest grade on Trubisky that they’d had on any quarterback over the past six years. That means: higher than Jameis Winston; higher than Marcus Mariota; higher than Cam Newton; higher than Russell Wilson; higher than Andrew Luck; higher than Derek Carr; higher than Carson Wentz.
It didn’t stop there, either.
Trubisky was described as an almost perfect quarterback by an NFC team, according to Mullin. That same team suggested that Trubisky would have been a slam dunk No.1 overall pick had he had another season of experience under his belt.
If the scouts’ assessments are accurate, the Bears suddenly look like the team that stole a star away from the rest of the NFL.
Like all things football, the debate will be settled on the field.
Apparently is also having a good mini camp.

Browns haven't taken a QB with their first pick since 1999.

You still upset that your boy wasn't the first QB taken?

The Browns front office won't be blamed for picking Garrett over Trubisky.
Two scouts may have rated him as the number QB of the decade, but how many scouts are there? 100? 200? I'm sure you can find a guy to say basically anything about anyone.

He's in a better situation. And yes he is better, Trubisky couldn't beat out marquise williams

I can't think of a QB who walked into a better situation than Watson.
Winston's wasn't bad bc Tampa actually had weapons and was decent for having the worst record in the league, but Mariota, Luck, even Wentz all had less desirable starting destinations. Trubisky for sure, too.

Winston and Mariota are currently 10-15
Luck is currently 5-10
Cam is currently 5-10, former MVP
Wilson is currently 5-10, SB Champ
Carr is currently top 5
Wentz is currently 15-20
So TWO AFC scouts had better grades on Luck and Newton, Luck being the "best QB prospect since Manning/Elway"?
If they had balls to make such claims, they'd say who they were and their rankings in years past. If its two top scouts from NE, than damn I'd say frick. If its two scouts from Jacksonville, yeah...don't care

Reminds me of when people "are impressive in or win their introductory press conferences"
How TF can you lose something like that, all you have to do is say we're going to be different, you're clearly replacing someone who wasn't doing well.

Edit: I cant take this article seriously or the certain evaluators if they think Mitch is more highly regarded than Luck, Winston, and Newton coming out of college, let alone the other names seen about.

This. Anonymous claims like this are so worthless. We have no basis on the person making the claim and their track record.

Most people agree with this. I don't think anyone hated the pick either, just that Chicago gave up so much for a guy, as stated, should've played College ball another year.

Drafts are a crap shoot. The problem was what the bears gave up along with signing glennon. He could be the next steve young or the next Tim couch we have no idea.
Assuming he had better character than Winston and better shaving skills than luck otherwise not sure what he grades at higher
