You can't give in to this kind of blackmail. If you do, there will be no end to it.

oh i get it, we need to support their athletic privilege (and our society rewarding people just because they are good at a fricking game) and then criticize the university pres because he doesnt acknowledge his white privilege.

some logic there (just lol)

What fricking reform is needed to correct someone "allegedly" directing a racial slur at some kids off campus? The perpetrator may not even be a student. And some drunk kid painting a nazi symbol in feces?

I could understand if there were legit problems on campus, but there aren't. This isn't like Boulder, Colorado in the 80s. The president shouldn't pay attention to the stupid pussies who can't function in the real world. He should ignore them.

Feel terrible for any sane person with a degree from Mizzou. They must be embarrassed as hell.

What a 100% total crock of shite. They aren't using their position to discuss issues. They are trying to force a person to resign.

Seems like they skipped about 40 steps and went straight to full retard.

Rocket you seem to have more of a problem with a white guy acknowledging his white privilege than a white guy putting up racist symbols or calling for young student athletes to lose athletic scholarships because they are bringing attention to real social issues. Interesting.

hardly, regardless of any possible merits of the situation, if I were a student the last thing I'd want is the football team having any say in my education, even if its only about kicking out or selecting a new president.

there are alot of other parties who would be much better representatives of my university.

This shite makes me sick. If someone doesn't agree with you, they are racist?

and playing sports at the college level is a pr
ivilege, not a right, which is why its relevant.

This College went into those players homes asked them to come to Mizzou & not the other way around ( for the most part).

These players do not need Mizzou & other schools ( maybe smaller Colleges) would love to have them.

Colleges don't make professional players they recruit them.

I hope this farm system is ended anyway.

You have no problem with them when they are quiet and bringing in tons of money to their respective college, but you have a problem with them taking a stand. Gotcha

No, you weren't even honest enough to use the word. You hid behind a barely concealed phrase that anybody with half a brain read as you calling him a racist.

I could have been taking about gender issues, foreign policy issues, don't project your constant thoughts of race on me.

its more of a problem of the players holding the college hostage, because they are lucky enough to be good at a fricking game.

have you seen their demands? thats not a stand, thats insanity

Well 1-5 in the East makes that pretty debatable.

Pinkel is overdue for a firing anyway.

Exxagerating much? Holding the whole college hostage, really man?

I never said I agreed with all of their demands, what I said is that I am happy they are taking a stand.

Their demands got your attention, so it is a successful stand.

9/10 they will meet somewhere in the middle. President probably will not be fired (as he shouldnt)
