Say what you want about Tyson, but he is the most explosive fighter I have ever seen. At 20 years old, watch how he quickly takes control of Trevor Berbick.

Fact: Tyson took a $5000 fine by wearing black trunks in this fight, which were only supposed to be worn by the reigning champ.

I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, and most ruthless champion there's ever been. There's no one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No, I'm Alexander, he's no Alexander. I'm the best ever. There's never been anybody as ruthless. I'm Sonny Liston,I'm Jack Dempsey. There's no one like me. I'm from their cloth. There's no one that can match me. My style is? impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah.

The uppercuts he threw were terrifying.

I feel like he'd separate your brain stem from your spine if he ever cleanly landed one directly under your jaw.

Tyson was an absolute beast... The ONLY thing that could save boxing now would be someone of that caliber. The ducking, dodging, and defensive fighting today is

And I don't think I've ever heard an announcer guarantee that the current champion would be knocked 2 min into the first round.

Would any of you pay to see Tyson fight again at 48yo?

Foreman became champ at 45 and had some decent fights thereafter. 20 years after he lost title.

Quick Google search shows there is actually some talk about this.

I made the mistake of planning a whole Saturday night around a Mike Tyson fight... My night was over in 20secs... in fact I didn't even see the knockout punch/ flury.

"yeah baby I'm fine, going to watch the fight tonight; have fun with the girls... gotta go, I just heard the 1st bell..."

Fight was over before I opened my beer.

Just think how many of those highlight knockouts we would have had he not gone to jail

Funny thing is, at the time, I would get pissed with that. Now I would kill to have a boxer even close to that dominant.

Tyson was a vicious fighting machine. It's too bad he let Don King, Robin Givens, and "the brothas" tell him how the white man (Kevin Rooney, Bill Cayton) was stealing from him and keeping him down.

When King and his band of theives took over, it was all downhill. It's a shame because I believe Tyson would have been hands-down the best ever. Instead, he became a rapist, an ear-biter, and a joke.

Never fought anyone. Perennially over-rated fighter.

No way. Berbick was hurt & had enough heart to attempt to get up, but his legs were absolutely gone . Berbick was not an all-time great but a legitimate HW who decided to stand toe to toe with a young Tyson(big mistake).

You want to see a dive watch Tyson v Bruce Seldon on YouTube(full fight only 4:11 secs)

LINK

The fans were screaming "fix , fix fix" & even Jim Gray called out Seldon at least 4 times to his face in the post fight interview saying the punch didn't seem to land & Seldon "didn't look hurt" & "sound okay talking to me"'etc..

Berbick came to fight with his delusional bravado standing toe to toe & got KTFO. I admire Berbicks heart ,but his strategy was dumb.

Berbick was hurt. Seldon took a dive & was frightened.

This.
Larry Holmes said Tyson wasn't the absolute hardest puncher, but the speed, accuracy were unmatched in boxing history.

Holmes said Shavers hit harder & Foreman was a probably a harder puncher, but they were nowhere near Tyson's speed & accuracy.

Tyson was fast , accurate & powerful. Frightening.

Tyson didn't throw big slow looping punches that missed its target most of the time or hit wrists/gloves because the opponent could see it coming .

"Rope -A -Dope" would never have worked on Tyson like it did Foreman who punched himself out missing on most of those punches.

Tyson would annihilate someone laying on the ropes allowing him to pick them apart. .

Ali would have had to work his jab & fight from the outside . Rope a dope would have gotten him decapitated against Tyson.
