Mike and Mike is a show for the simple-minded. It's just terrible vanilla radio.

First Take talking about shortage of minority head coaches. Then they mention Fredie Gonzalez should have been fired for poor results lol.

No, I don't. However, I do think these billionaire owners have very, very subjective means for determining who is a good coach, and as a result they often go with what they know and who they know, and that lends itself to hiring white coaches.
It isn't really a problem, but that is the difference between on the field and off of it. On the field, the best players play. Off the field, determining the best coaches is highly subjective, so bias and tendencies are much more apt to show up.

I listen to them going to work in the morning to catch headlines during football season.
Greenberg is one of the whiniest counts in talk radio. He bitches and moans about the most trivial shite there is, and that is during the season. I can't imagine how bad he is in the "dead" period between the end of basketball season and the start of football.

People, I have been telling you for years. Do NOT listen to or watch any ESPN programming other than actual games. It is a liberally biased entity run by Disney whose entire platform is to push the entire liberal agenda. If you laugh at me & don't believe me then fine. Keep sticking your heads up your arse.

My advise is to not listen to Mike and Mike. Or any ESPN broadcast that isn't a live game
If you have Sirius listen to Steve Czaban on channel 93 in the mornings - very entertaining.

It's hard for me not to judge people who enjoy listening to Mike and Mike

It is a for-profit company that wants to maximize revenue. Mike and Mike, Dan LeBetard, etc. get mentioned more on this site and others than ANYONE else on the radio, so despite all the claims the people don't listen, the second they stray from sports talk you can bet there will be a thread about it.
There is no agenda to push, they're just going to follow the money. If people weren't watching at a satisfactory clip, they'd do something different.

This. Swore off everything but SVP a couple of years ago. Now that SVP is on tv only, i cant stand anything on ESPN national radio any more.

I dropped Mike & Mike last fall but caught some of their shows this wk as Dan Patrick is on vacation now. Mon or Tue they got into how safe/dangerous social media is, and that discussion went on for a good 2 hrs. Greenberg is a prototypical liberal New Yorker & I mean liberal in the Obama/Clinton context. But what sums him up for me is the story that Golic told on him: when Greenberg was having some repairs done to his home, an Hispanic worker used one of the bathrooms in the house. The next day Greenberg had the entire toilet seat replaced. He is all about paying college players but typical liberal, has no answer as to how to do it within the confines of Title IX.

This is such a terrible line of thinking. I don't like Greenburg at all, but it's not because he never played. If anything, former players may have more bias and let that impact their analysis.
I also find it odd that you are hoping someone hurts a non-pro for doing his job. You know, the greatest coach in NFL history never played in the pros either. I think I will still respect what Bill Belichick says about football.

Russillo is probably the best talking head there at the moment (especially basketball) and he's never played any pro sports. I think that argument is invalid. I just think Greenberg doesn't watch any sports outside of Jets games and just gets briefed in the pre show meetings

ESPN radio has been awful for a long time. Mike and Mike and Dan LeBetard talk about so much silly nonsense that has nothing to do with sports, it makes it impossible to listen to. Then don't even give live score updates anymore. I tune into FOX Sports radio now, it is much better.
