yeah greeneberg is supposedly going to get millions for this new gig. If you were truly looking for ways to trim some fat, letting him walk on that amount would have done more than cutting a bunch of beat writers and bit players.

I've not hardly said much about berman in the past and haven't made one comparison in the meantime. You say greenberg sucks (very shallow and juvenile opinion piece) and his success just dick slaps your simplistic opinion.

I can't believe how hard you're Knighting for Mike fricking Greenberg of all people. That's like angrily saying cottage cheese is the best tasting cheese.

the hatred he gets and lack of credit he receives is poposterous. mike and mike was great asset to sports fans for 18 years.

Greenberg in any other role than a facilitator is going to bomb, IMO. People don't care about this opinions except when they are outlandish enough for someone else (Golic) to offer some balance. He's not an interesting personality. He doesnt' have built in credibility. He's not funny or particularly entertaining (Berman was at h peak).

I'm struggling to think of a format other than Mike and Mike where I'd be interested in seeing Greenberg.

Why pay beat writers when they can focus on on air hot take talent? It sucks but Stein's and Stark's breaking news stories is not what is going to drive their ratings. Ftr, I am a big fan of those two and a lot of the NBA beat writer's works, and I hate the direction that ESPN headed.

FWIW, when I used to listen to Mike & Mike I listened for Golic and not Greenie.

I listen to the show every morning on the way to work and it is always pretty good. Both Mikes get like a month of vacation a year, even more when they travel. So there has always been a lot of different fill in guys. I really don't think there will be a drop off when Greenburg leaves. He is making a huge mistake leaving. They pull tons of major guests and it really is the biggest sports show. More radio time for our LSU guys (Booger and Clark)..

Golic needs Greenberg to be interesting/meaningful, IMO.

Your overestimating the personal draw Greenberg has versus any bland personality with a smooth delivery with the huge engine of ESPN Radio pushing them. They could have replaced Greenie a decade ago without a hiccup.
