It's not that some think the coach left the decision up to the team, it's that the LSU fans are trying to perpetrate a lie when in reality to anyone with a keen eye would see what is going on.

So did you just agree that you don't think he completely left the decision to the team? If so, I'm not following the lie that us LSU fans are perpetrating.

Les is a grown arse man, why the frick does he need to have his team reaffirm anything? Stand by your convection and decision as a coach to make your own choice absolved from a team vote.
I actually agree with this.

I don't know what Les reason was behind what he did but if you believe what he did is true, then I question his leadership abilities to lead troubled players and punish them justly. If any coach did that, I would have the same regards to that situation.
This is the same guy that kicked his 5* starting QB off the team and a defensive Heisman trophy finalist. I have no concerns with him punishing players justly. Can you really not see where he thought it would build team unity to hold a vote. You ever have any meetings at work where your opinion is asked? How about any team building exercises? Some people have different philosophies about how to empower their people.

Honey Badger is a drug addict that was given several chances but was finally (and rightly) kicked off the team. Even after all of that Miles was still working to get him reinstated for the following season.

And no, I cannot see Miles' side of the Hill story. There are rules in the workplace that everyone must abide by. If you violate them you pay the consequences. End of story.

I guess it's how you look at my response. Either he did what you mentioned and seeked affirmation for his decision or he let the team vote so he didn't make the decision himself. Either or based on how you look at it.

Much respect to him and his choices made in the past. I guess I don't see how this would build team unity because their are other ways to do this in regard to discipline. Maybe punish the kid and then have a team meeting to say this won't be tolerated but nothing to the level of a team vote. Maybe some see that as effective but I don't.

I've had team building exercises at work but not over discipline issues. All things like that are between me and my superior(s).

Do you LSU fans have a link to back this up? First Miles made the decision for him to come back, then the team voted as a gesture to bring to the team. TIA

Actually it's pretty common knowledge around here that this is Miles's MO when dealing with discipline stuff. They have a players council that gives input, etc. The Brazil situation recently was in stark contrast to Hill - suspension, kicked off team. The players definitely have a say so in those sort of things. Hill was suspended from everything pending the outcome of the investigation. Once he was back he was suspended for TCU then would "disappear" for quarters at a time during SEC games. Trust me, that was part of his reinstatement as well.

Ok. If you say so. But he was NOT suspended for ANY games. Even though he didn't play, he dressed and was eligible for the TCU game.

Are you that wrapped up in semantics? OK, let's go with it. Our injury free, 1st string running back did not play a snap in the season opener but was definitely not suspended for said game. Feel better? Merely his playing time was withheld from him.

I honestly could give a shite. However, the MSB needs to quit being obsessed with bashing Urbs when the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Urbs has dropped the hammer several times already while I'm not sure most SEC coaches even own a hammer.

I can tell. It seems like you've already given several in this thread.

Hill was only punished "internally", whatever that means.

Wasn't he cleared to play though but just didn't get in the game? I have a real problem with someone convicted of a sex crime, then violates probation but somehow avoids suspension or being kicked off the team. "Let the team vote"...ok

quote:

Turn the tides...if the exact same situation happened at tOSU (mimicking Hill's), what would you think?

quote:

If Meyer did the same as Miles in this situation, the rant would explode.

A lot of gamesmanship between Miles & Patterson regarding suspended players before that game.
As for "Urbs", he's nothing but a sleazy, slimy, snake in the grass. I'd like to fistfight "Urbs" but I'm sure his oh-so-ailing tiny heart would give out during his arse kicking. Its a shame a university with such a historically important football program would associate itself with Meyers.

You have the right to an opinion. I love how just about every thread turns into an Urban bashing. It's one thing to dislike someone but this is an MSB obsession.

While I dislike the OSU football program and fans, I must say CUM has been much stricter on discipline at OSU than at UF.

The fact that Marcus Hall did not play a down in the Big 10 Championship must be recognized and respected.

Damn that was tough to write.

Ahh so now its..."OH WELL BECAUSE HE HAD TOO."

Nice.

And no he didn't have to. There was a thread about it when he announced no further punishment was going to be handed down. Of course the usual Urbsesses posters thought it was ludicrous, but after that it was forgotten.

The 2nd reply into this thread mentioned Urban. If that's not obsessed I don't know what is. He coaches tOSU and will do well. Live with it

Urbseesed...oh, man. What clever word play from the OSU fans. This is great. It definitely doesn't get old the 847th time it's repeated in a thread.

If you want to know why so many fans hate the midwest's best Bashar Assad lookalike, it's because of his hypocrisy and lies. This is the same cocksucker who would cry to the NCAA every time a highly rated player chose not to commit to his school. All the while, he was coaching a team with one of the lowest collective median SAT/ACT scores in the history of NCAA athletics. One year they didn't break 800 as a team average on the Math and Verbal. Yet this guy has the gall to call out other schools To be fair, I am amazed he was able to protect all of his felons at Florida while getting in the way of players enrolling at other schools, while having an affair and a fake heart attack, all at the same time.

Of course, it's the SEC culture that encouraged Meyer to recruit and keep one of the greatest squads in the history of the NCAA that narrowly missed out on Fulmer Cups every year.

Thankfully he's in the B1G, and as we can see from the days of Art Schlichter, Maurice Clarett, Andy Katzenmoyer (has he learned to read yet or is he just head-butting cars in traffic these days?), and Terrelle Proyor, the ethical conference only molds leaders out of its STUDENT-athletes.

I don't care how well he does..... When facing a great team he sucks without Tebow and he left FLA with shite for recruits.... Deal with it.....

Back on topic.. Its a shame what happened to the MSU player but hey, If you screw up you must pay... THIS has NOTHING to do with OSU.....
