This quote from Harbaugh is telling of the progress being made:

quote:

We had a good practice the other day. The guys worked hard, and gave their all, but we somehow still lost to Ohio State

No, it is not. Two year rebuilding job at a minimum.

Quarterback play in the spring game on Saturday was atrocious, and no matter how amazing your running game is, it can't take you all the way to the promised land by itself (see LSU 2014).

7 wins max this year, and that is only because the defense will be good.

Hoke/RR drove the program deep into the deepest pit of the deepest cave, and it will take awhile to see daylight again.

Anything more than a toilet bowl appearance and toilet bowl victory will be gravy.

hence the "at a minimum" which you conveniently left out of the quote included in your post...

Even the "at minimum" part is highly optimistic.

Well, my standards are quite lower than an LSU football fan's standard.

To me, a "rebuilt" team is one that goes 9-3/8-4. I think year 3 is when Harbaugh can do that.

Honestly, with what I saw him do successively at my two favorite football teams, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Michigan wins 10 games in 2016.

I just cannot see it.

Ohio State brings everyone back from a team that very well might have been the best OSU team in history. They have three quarterbacks that many power 5 coaches would walk across glass shards to obtain.

The fact that it is at home will make it a 17 point loss rather than 24 point loss, assuming injuries don't happen.

Michigan fans are hoping and praying Michigan gets Jake Rudock from Iowa, a senior quarterback who was benched and replaced by a freshman last year by Kirk Ferentz.

That's how bad our QB situation is. We are hoping and praying for Hawkeye scraps.

Their recruiting class was doghshit which means they will suck this year and get another dogshit class but probably slightly better because of Jim as coach. This is a 4-5 year MINIMUM turnaround but it may never happen because what it going on at tOSU.

I'd say Harbaugh could have that team winning again fairly quickly. I think 2 years would be enough.

I think Michigan will win 8-9 this year. They get tOSU and Sparty at home, so that helps.
