The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday night that they have signed the veteran quarterback to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, the Steelers have placed quarterback Bruce Gradkowski on season-ending injured reserve.

He won't play much, if at all. Roethlisberger is one of the toughest QBs in the league and has played through some painful injuries. It takes a lot to knock him out of a game.

Ironic they pick the most frail QB to back him up.

Dumb signing. Old, washed up, inaccurate arm.

I'd rather have someone accurate with less range and mobility. A just don't lose it type. And more importantly, someone I'm not ashamed to have on the roster.

Uh, have you seen Landry Jones play in the preseason. Anything is an upgrade.

With Pouncey out, Ben is going to get killed. I expect him to miss a game or two this season.

I hope it's not the game at Cleveland. That'll get really confusing--when the Browns fans chant "woof woof woof" it'll be hard to tell whether it's a Browns war chant or mocking Ookie.

Michael Vick is a 10000% upgrade over Landry Jones.

Haven't 2 separate women accused Roethlisberger of rape?

Not convicted ,but 2 different women . And Frick Pit Bulls.

That's the key. Innocent until proven guilty. Ookie is unquestionably guilty.

In Ben's case he was never even charged. I would never wear a #7 jersey but I'm not going to be ashamed to have him on the roster, unless more evidence comes out.

Vick served his time to society and has kept his hands clean since being released. I'm not ashamed to have him on the roster at all.

Legursky is a serviceable backup. Not as good as Pouncey but good enough.

Ben is finally learning not to hold the ball forever so that will help keep him upright too.

Well he will serve as an exciting backup in that offense, if needed. He could be successful in a pinch.

Why would a team be ashamed to have him on the roster if they think he can help the team?
