anyone think he should've waited til he got drafted before coming out?
Rumor was that he was going to be outed before the draft, so he did it on his own terms.

He should probably be more disappointed in his other sons who are doing hard time in prison

I hope this doesn't get made a big deal and they don't make the father look bad
Wait a father is disappointed in his son for some reason?
Call in the radical activists to make sure every parent is a robot and agrees with every choice their kid makes so the kids don't feel bad
It's a natural reaction and shock esp over text to hear news like that junior should've done it in person

He may get bashed, but he shouldn't. It seems to me he's just being honest, but not profane.

You are the one making assumptions here. Who cares if him and his dad aren't that close. It's his father
quote:
Michael Sam had anticipated his family’s uneasiness. In an interview Sunday in North Hollywood, Calif., he spoke about his tough upbringing, which he said was more challenging than the decision to come out publicly.
“I’m closer to my friends than I am to my family,” Sam conceded.
LINK
In the outside the lines interview he basically said he saw an older brother gunned down, another brother go missing before being declared dead 2 years later, had an older sister die as a baby, other siblings in and out of jail since 8th grade and currently incarcerated. He had a rough childhood, to say the least. I'm not saying he did or did not owe his father more than a text, but I don't think you can come to a conclusion without more info.

I love right by one. I go in there sometimes with my kids. People like to drink up in that Mfer for some reason.

But still his kid is going to play in the NFL, be happy for him.
Why should he?
If it were my son regardless of if he is playing pro sports, the POTUS, or whatever I'd still disown him and cut off all contact with him.
Edit: Note the above is a hypothetical. I do not have a kid.
