I think part of this rumor was that Lebron would be going to Houston also. He wants to play with Melo, so Houston would do S&T with Knicks then clear our Asik and Lin to sign Lebron.

Dallas - There's one ball. Ellis needs it as much as melo. Good defensively as a team though and Chandler makes them better. If you can make Ellis into a distributor (assuming felton sucks arse) or one of them yielding, than yes I see this as a place to work well.
Houston is a bad choice, there's one ball as well. Harden needs it as much as melo. Also, remember that would make Dwight option #3, he will not be happy. Bad defensively as a team and to get that much cap space for those 3, they may not have much depth.
Chicago is the best choice. Defensively they're one of the most sound in the league. Their offense needs help and he brings that. Any deficiencies in his defense, the other 4 guys will mask it. Thibs may even be able to get him to play some as well. Rose healthy means he can take a lighter load and be option #2 if Melo is on board. If he's healthy, they become instant contenders and they can also trade for Afflalo, they may be the favorites at the end of the off-season.

Pelicans might be able to get Asik for next to nothing then.
