Actually Musberger is my favorite one. I think he raises the excitement when he covers any sport, esp CFB...

Only seen one game announced by him and he botched so many names. People that weren't even in the game were scoring, apparently. Botched what team was getting the ball/what team the foul was on/etc. Then he makes no attempt to correct his errors and just goes on to the next topic. Awful.

Your right kadillak, he is terrible with getting names correct and having his mind confused that way often. However he actually is very old, even though he does not talk that way. That is why his he slips wrong names or his memory is not sharp. However I know no other announcer as exciting as him when I listen to him. He can pump a no name boring game into making one think it was a showcase superbowl. And I give him a pass for getting names incorrect as him being an old geezer.

I don't mind him for basketball. But he can't ever get the pac 12 dick out of his mouth when calling football games.

Awe, you all are just used to every TV guy sucking the SEC off, and when you see another TV guy sucking another Conference off, it makes you Jealous.

Musberger can be a little over dramatic sometimes, but I've always considered him one of the better anouncers. Verne..... not so much

Bingo... You hit the nail on the head. That bothers some people, but then others like his dramatizing(like me) every game like the superbowl. He is the lead TV announcer for ABC and ESPN CFB. He is their #1 guy for a reason. Must not be turning too many people off! The only complaints I have ever heard of him are SEC fanboys who detest the PAC-12 and get Jealous when Musberger gets excited with something he see's with a PAC team.

The Boat, I thought you went offline. But since you are online, and I like you, would you want me to give you a little secret why he sucks off the PAC so much?

Naw, you are not a bitch, you just like to try to be funny soemtimes...

I will tell you a little secret that will reveal all mysteries into him and why, correctly so, some of you sense that he sucks off the PAC-12.... Here is why... He was born in Portland. Thus, I think he spent most of his life in other parts, Chicago or wherever, but most people have a strong emotional attachment to where they were born. Anyways, and well, he is freaking major old. Thus, unlike us, he can easily remember when the Rose Bowl was the biggest sporting event in the country, waaaaaaaaaaay bigger of a deal then the super bowl way back when. Thus, even while the PAC has not done great nationally recently, or had much national respect, he comes at it from different angle, as a old guy, revering our great history. And also, out West, we are raised to almost revere the State of Cali as well. Granted, many hate it, me included,,,, but even though we hate aspects of it, or how bad of drivers those Cali people are, we all still revere it. It is the destination place, the magical place, Hollywood, ect...The mecca of it all. And that is why, if you watch West coast games taking place at a School somewhere in Cali, he salivates and brags about the setting. I drove down to last years Stanford-UO game. But when I got home I watched that game 10 times. And I clearly remember he boasting about the beautiful setting at Stanford. Well, they all are like that. And it gives him a sense of pride that he is a West Coast guy, although I think he has lived in Montana for years. Anyways, but even in Montana, they feel the same way. That is actually my birth state. And they all over there dream of taking a vacation to Cali, or somewhere on the Pacific Ocean Coast. Plus, that region over there has no major CFB teams, so they all get PAC games on TV much and are big fans. And well, for UO specifically, it just is his birth state pride coming out. And that is probably why he knows my team way better then any other team is because he follows UO way more, but secretly is a fan, as he has to come off as unbiased.

Anyways, hope this helps explain. BTW< that is why we at UO adore him. He loves the shite out of us.

Oh, one more point... he also sucks off the Big Ten. Who ever said it earlier, it is very true. I happen to believe that is for 2 reasons. 1)he is close buddies with Herbie, and Herbie cant shut up about the Big Ten and that love of the Big Ten has rubbed off much on him. 2)He is a old fart that is a traditionalist, and has the greatest respect for the Rose Bowl, which as we all know is a PAC-B10 gig. And that one bowl kind of makes our two Conferences respect each other much and almost near brothers in a weird way. That is why you might see any other Conference rag on the PAC or Big Ten much, but we don't rag on them ourselves much/each of us. We respect each other too much. Plus, as you all know, the SEC is enemy #1 to all Conferences now... And well, I really believe this is where Herbie also gets his respect for the PAC from, those same 2 reasons. Both of those guys have rubbed off on each other much. Plus Herbie played in a Rose Bowl, grew up with the RB, also... And if one really understands these psychology points of those two guys, it all makes easy sense in trying to figure them out.
