Crazy to think those Braves teams didn't win another World Series after 1995.

3 sporting events will forever haunt me and one of those is the '96 World Series. Unbelievable choke job by the Braves.

Choke job by the Cardinals in the NLCS that year is just as bad. If only Wohlers hadn't served up that gopher ball to Leyritz in Game 3 or 4.

I remember watching him carve up the Cubs at Wrigley his first game as a Brave. I think it was the season opener in'93.

76 pitches might get you 4 innings from Jake Arrieta

I remember this game. The SportsCenter highlight was just a video of him throwing every pitch sped up to fit the 30 seconds or however long the SC highlights used to be.

I miss 90s MLB. The Braves were my team. Maddux was amazing during that run.

Yeah. That period was frustrating to watch. It is also the Braves luck their best team was probably the '94 club.

On a fun-fact related note:

A true perfect game is 81 pitches that produces 81 strikes/27 strike-outs. No balls, no fouls, no pop-flies, etc...

Wonder if it's ever been done?

You can have 54 foul balls and still have 27 Ks and throw 81 pitches.

Doubtful it's ever been done in a league that has full 9 inning games. Maybe in high school baseball or women's softball. Heck, there's only been 86 single innings like that in MLB history.
