The best comment that I ever saw from MSB was when someone said Wilson was not smart enough to play QB. I have said some stupid things (some on purpose some not) but that one was the best. The outrage after the Chiefs game was classic. I think we will see the same when Mariota scores with the first team, there will be someone trying to justify that Mett did not get a chance.

Mariota is going to get beat up with that lack of O-line and NFL defenses being able to keep up with him. Not sure why he had to name him the starter this soon, but whatever.
This actually makes sense, could work out well. Would be surprised if this happened though.

If WHisenhunt has actually changed the scheme somewhat to meet Mariota's play style, I can see him being a serviceable to good QB his first year (ie. Seawhawks/Eagles mash). If they play with the same playbook as last year, Mett's going to be taking over in Game 10 of the season, and TEN is going to look retarded.

In the training camp report, the Titans beat guy was on ESPN just now and said something to the affect of "I expected to see two guys slugging it out for the starting job, but that's just not the case. Mett is just not on the level of marriotta and that is clear. Many people, including myself, kinda bought in to Zach being our guy, and I'm not saying he isn't good enough to be an NFL starter, but Marcus is clearly the better option through the OTAs and the people I've talked to on the inside"

Mett by game 5 makes sense. With his injury history, he won't ever make it an entire season in the NFL.
So, Mariota flops, Mett plays weeks 5-13, gets hurt and Titans finish 2-14. Draft another QB and do it all again in 2016.

Brady has excellent mobility within the pocket. That's something Mettenberger has never had.

The NFL will never learn how to groom quarterbacks. Each person is different and responds to pressure different. Why not keep Met as the starter and let MM learn, it would do him worlds of good than getting him killed and have his confidence crushed.
I'm not say Met is the savior he could be another flop.
With QBs, 90% of the time you never know what you are getting. But if I had to play the odds I'd say MM will be a flop the same as Winston. Neither was an Andrew Luck type can't miss prospect.

Because the coach is shite they ruin players futures. It's a huge difference in the franchises that win and the ones that lose. It's not because the winners get the better player, it's because they know how to coach them and make the right personnel moves.
