Well for starters he's been to rehab multiple times

Most people believe he is an addict because he continues to exhibit extreme self destructive behavior in leu of an chance in life most people dream about.

His own father said he may be dead in a couple of years. When the people that know you best are that worried, that indicates a serious problem, more than someone just being an attention whore.

I blame his parents. They should have cut him off the day he stepped foot on the Texas A&M campus. The biggest problem with the guy is that he has too much money and never had to worry about anything in his life. People learn how to become responsible adults by going through hardships trying to make ends meet when they are first out on their own. When you have parents who take care of you and pay for everything and give you a boatload of allowance money to spend through college, it stunts your development and you become an overgrown manchild like Manziel.

That doesn't mean shite. He was forced to go.
Posted on 4/15/16 at 11:23 am to Goldrush25
His dad said this because of his reckless behavior not that his liver would fail . Now ANYONE can go out and get high/drunk and get into a wreck and die. As far as that goes it's highly possible. He needs treatment for a lot of things from the looks of it.

I like how people say they're tired of him, yet still talk about him. This thread is already three pages.
I think Johnny needs to be an arena league QB for the Las Vegas Outlaws. I think that would be perfect for him since he'd still be able to party and the AFL could use his celebrity image.

Well said bench. But a bigger problem is that they enable him to continue to frick up and didn't take it serious enough. Now it's too late except when HIS money runs out they need to say no.

Just because he was forced or not doesn't mean he isn't an alcoholic or any other drug user

Plenty of addicts are forced to go to rehab.

The $$ really won't run out for a while if ever. Now the F-you $$ can run out, but for Johnny douche he has options to live comfortably:
1) He still has the celebrity panache wherein Clubs will pay him $15k-$25k just for showing up;
2) He's a Heisman trophy winner. He could go get on the autograph and personal appearance circuit and generate $100k+ easy for life;
3) There's a book deal that at some point will be coming
4) Once he wakes up and gets straight he can always go the Maurice Clarret route and do the mea culpa don't do as I did speeches and make bank
As far as the NFL he's DONE. Dude is not that unique of a talent wherein an NFL team will bend over backwards to have him on their roster.

I believe hardcore drugs are his biggest problem now, not alcohol. You take enough of the wrong combination of hardcore drugs and you can drop dead. See John Belushi or any number of celebrities, or normal people that drop dead every day from drug use.
The thing about drug use is that it almost always worsens over time because the drugs have decreased effects over time, so you need more of it to have the same effect. When you have means and can get as much as you want, that's a deadly combination.

Ok. Some may describe him as an alcoholic. That's fine with me. I am s recovering one so I know what it's about. Like I said he needs treatment for more than any substance. He needs to grow up basically. Bottom line he had a chance to be rich and famous doing things the right way. Now he is famous for all the wrong reasons. Not much else to say.

But isn't that basically the root of all addicts issues? Something along the way stunts their mental growth and their outlet becomes some form of learned substance or behavior.

False as a generalizing statement.

Outside of infants born at the hands of addicts, obviously.
