Calvin Johnson redefined what execs were looking for in a WR, since getting to the NFL...

Lynn Swann wasn't even the best WR on his own fricking team...

yeah, Lynn.... just eat your fricking pudding cup and get to bed...

It was completely different game when Swann played. As I said, you compare Johnson to his peers, not Swann.

The article did that.

CJ still crushes Swann.

Hard to say what Swann would have done with the rules in place

Its also hard to say what DAMAGE CJ would have done in Swanns day... He would have destroyed DB's back then.. He would have been Jerry Rice before Jerry Rice.. AND even better............

And? My point is you guys are comparing Swann to Johnson. When that argument can not be made. Do I think Swann deserves to be in? I do not know, do I think Johnson needs to be in? Most likely, but probably will not happen for a long long time.

Neither Swann nor Johnson deserve to be in the HOF.

Johnson's numbers are a result of playing in the most pass-happy era of football history, in addition to being a very good receiver.

He's done nothing else. No one is going to be talking about Calvin Johnson 10 years from now. Not any more than they talk about Art Monk or James Lofton. And those two are actually IN the Hall of Fame, and deserve to be there.

My opinion is the Hall lets too many people in to begin with. They need to start cutting the number of inductions by half.

Actually Swann was a better WR than Stallworth, but whatever. Pearson was not as good as either of them, and that hurts to say that.

You keep repeating that Swann and CJ need to be compared to their peers. It's already been done. Read the article.

I agree with this 100%... It Takes years and years to get in to the Baseball HOF for most players that you would think would be an easy choice... The pro football HOF is a joke compared to the baseball HOF..........

I watched almost every Steelers game in the 70's... Stallworth was better IMO... AND IMO Pearson was netter than Both... The dude was way more graceful than swann.. Stallworth was fater than both and a better deep threat.. But out of the three, I would take Pearson over the other two ina heartbeat....... Of course I would have to have Staubach over Bradshaw as well........

Andre Johnson, Steve Smith Sr, and Larry Fitzgerald have something to say about that
