Race-baiter? Yup.

I liked Tyler, loved Davey.

But, you will judge/draw own conclusions regardless.

half of what he said was complete bullshite since JR didn't display that shite in college....no vision, no pocket presence, no intuition

JaMarcus' stats over his last 22 college games

CMP...ATT...YARDS...CMP%...YDS/A...TD...INT...RAT
.382....582.....5107.......65.6.......8.78......40...13....157.8

not bad for a LSU QB with no vision, no pocket presence, and no intuition

I'm a Stanford man so I'll always take Luck but both are great talents and it'll be fun to see how both develop at the next level.

good luck with that argument. i've never met one JR-hater that trusted stats over "their eyes"

Magic vs. Bird

...it's too bad the NFL can't or never has promoted a mano vs. mano rivalry.

Of course the league would also never go out of its way to paint RGIII as the black QB star and Luck as the white polar opposite - like the NBA did in the early 80's.

Luck ran a very controlled and condensed offense

quote:

Luck was an economical player who was at his best as a timing and rhythm, short to intermediate passer. 3 and 5 step drops, quick throws. He primarily made efficient throws to open receivers. The deeper throws were what we call shot plays, primarily with play action, specifically designed to attack an anticipated coverage based on field position, down and distance, personnel and formation. On those plays, the receiver was wide open. They were not difficult passes.

Overall, Luck was not asked to make many tough throws at the intermediate and deeper levels. I did not see those.

My biggest complaints with Luck, and I've voiced them routinely.

How many times has the NFL/ESPN talked about "Brady vs Manning". Although its funny that they never truly play "against" each other.

Also, there's too few games, so a rivalry like that wouldn't work unless it was in conference. I mean how many times will the Colts play Washington. What good is promoting a rivaly if they don't ever play against each other?

I hope this was a joke because JR film was great. Even if the raiders didn't draft him, he wouldn't have made it our of the top ten. So either you, a fan, doesn't know what he is talking about or scouts don't. Which is more likely. JR bust comes from not working once he got into nfl.

A Scout's counterpoint -

LINK

quote:

According to one long-time personnel man the two are not even in the same conversation.

“They’re not even comparable,’’ he said. “It’s not close at all.

“Luck is the best guy I’ve ever scouted. The best I’ve ever done. Whatever you want a quarterback to do, he can do. However it is that you tests quarterbacks, he passes. He’s a hell of an athlete. He’s smart. He can do it all. I mean you look at what he had in college (at Stanford) which wasn’t much and what he accomplished. There are just no negatives on this guy.’’

All right, what about the man who beat out Luck for the Heisman this past fall, RG III?

“He’s exciting,’’ the personnel man said. “No doubt about that. But is he ever going to win a Super Bowl for you? I don’t know. I don’t see him winning one. He can win games. I mean if Mike Vick can win games and Tim Tebow can win games, than he can win games.

“That’s what he is; he’s the new Mike Vick. He’s probably smarter, and off the field he’s a great kid, but he’s the new Vick.’’

Not the new Cam Newton?

“Hell no,’’ the personnel man said. “He’s nowhere near Cam.’’

He rarely anticipated throws, threw guys open, didn't manipulate the pocket, rarely felt pressure, etc. He was below average in all these areas, not NFL ready/good at any as describe by Cosell.

Ok yeah I see. You're just stupid!

JR biggest bust ever.

He lacked what Cosell thought he was great at. JR not only was lazy, but he lacked NFL level intuition, vision, pocket presence and much of that had to do with his laziness.

Some of you butt hurt tards need to get over how poorly evaluated he was by Cosell.
