And it was all started out of spite.

Listen to the talk coming from the private schools and their supporters. You will quickly realize they have very few options. They are lashing out and the venom is off the charts. When you hear the Jesuit principal discussing there may be possible legislative action you know they are desperate. All this over a playoff change in 1 sport. Nothing in the regular season is changing.
You have obviously only listened to public school people. There is a lot that can be done, and will be done.

Dumbest shite I have ever seen. High school football in Louisiana is now a joke.

I hope the "select enrollment" schools form their own organization. Why play the district games just to help the budgets of the public schools that don't want to have to compete with you come playoof time. And for that matter, why spend the money for your non money making sports to bus around playing when you can play equal or better competition by staying close to home. In the public school we want a chance to win league does every kid get a trophy for participation?

Not a joke. JC, Evangel, West Monroe will all still be nasty. Non-select Louisiana high school football WILL be a joke that no one cares about.
Can't wait to see those "state title game" attendance numbers.

OP, not cool. Do not like this. My high school(South Lafourche) voted NO BTW.
Thibodaux and ED White also voted no... the only school in this parish to vote yes was CL Lafourche... and they suck at most everything.

I went to Notre Dame and always heard people bitch, and hear even more so since I've been gone a while. People yelling that ND recruits, has an unfair advantage, etc. It's the only private school for football in that area, so of course kids from Rayne, Jennings, Church Point, etc. would like to go there, along with it being a known top program. Many of the parents would also prefer their kids in school there compared to the pubic in their town. Many of them have family ties, moms and dads, brothers and sisters went, so they go too. Not only that, it's a bunch of moderately athletic white kids who are just well coached and disciplined. Ever hear about any NCAA players coming out of ND? Yea, me neither.
Same goes for some of the other good private schools in the state. It's no doubt that JC, Evangel, and maybe a few others recruit some, but they are breaking the entire system here because public schools are crying. I've seen some good public schools that can compete, it's about building a good program.

The question is, the one OP Walkers coaches were asking, would the Jefferson Parish public schools join?
why would they? why would we?
$$$$
Ehret, West Jeff, & Higgins might rather be with Shaw, Walker, & Karr.

Yes, because that has a lot to do with the competitive advantage private schools have in high school football.
So its okay to have a competitive advantage in baseball?

How about those mid-size private schools like Loyola Prep and Episcopal... They're lumped into Division 1 with Rummel, Jesuit, Curtis, Evangel, and those guys? Not much thinking went into this huh?

Might as well just call it the John Curtis rule.

Private schools never see the clear recruiting advantage. Glad it went through
