Tuscaloosa has undergone amazing growth and change in the last 4-5 years. I go back every weekend and I notice something else being built every time. It's truly amazing. The campus has grown and will almost double in size when they begin working on the the Bryce Hospital property.

I also think the Saban family became more connected with the town after the April 27th tornado.

Something I have never seen anyone bring up, what about he goes to Texas and fails to win a National Championship? I don't think that would happen, but I also don't think you can bank on him going there and winning 5 straight National Championships.

I think Saban and Bama were in a perfect storm together. Honestly, I don't know if he'd be able to repeat what he's done here.

It's not as simple as walking into Austin and collecting the crystal (or whatever the trophy will be).

Also, for those who say he wants a new challenge, don't ya'll think winning a few championships with the new playoff system will be enough of a challenge?

He's also putting together one hell of a recruiting class for Bama this season to be leaving.

Just a few thoughts.

I would find it to be absolutely hysterical.

So if Texas paid him $10 million a year, wouldn't that mean if someone else won the Championship they would get a raise to that level as well?

If it was in their contract.

Exactly. Of course, he could also just be hedging his bets.

He might stay in Tuscaloosa and this is just him trying to extort a raise, but if he does stay, I guarantee it's not because of his deep connection to the town of Tuscaloosa. That's just silly.

He goes to Texas for the money and the challenge of being the first guy to win a MNC at three different schools, cementing his claim as the greatest coach ever.

He stays at Bama if he gets a big raise and he wants to see his four #1 recruiting classes through. That's right, he's on his way to his fourth straight #1 class, giving him perhaps the most talented team, on paper, in college football history.

And him rattling off 2+ more NCs at Bama wouldn't cement his as the greatest coach ever?

greatest college coach. The greatest football coach gets it done in the NFL. He couldn't hack it.

I like saban, hope he wins another, and he already is the greatest college coach ever.

It wouldn't even make him the greatest coach in Alabama history. Do I really need to sit down a Bama fan and explain who Bear Bryant is and why he was great?

This thread is full of greatness. At least most of you are being truthful and admitting you can't beat the man.

If you think Bama dominance is ruining college football than Saban at Texas will be 10x worse.

Worse than winning the national championship every year? Please explain.
