doesn't he have like a .200 winning percentage against teams with a .500 or above record?

They really didn't have any other options. Expect another shitty season and bank on getting a rookie QB and hope he pans out? Or, sign a free agent QB from the scrap heap? It'll be interesting see how everything pans out this coming season. If the defense can improve and Schwartz can keep control of the team and avoid bonehead decisions, they should be decent.

Dude has Jeff George disease. he's always had a phenomenal arm and therefore could get away with poor mechanics in HS and College. In the NFL, the accuracy problems that are associated with poor mechanics cause a lot of problems.

Rookie year was a given learning on the job and make mistakes. Injured most of 2010. The 2011 season look ed like he was on his way to becoming a top tier QB. Last year, they wrote it in early and seemed like the team quit. The problem he doesn't have that great of a defense to bail out his high risk/reward style.

How many games has he actually played? Seems more like Michael Vick than Joe Flacco. He has basically been guaranteed $80 mil for how many games?

He played in every game the last two seasons. He got injured his first two years when they were pretty terrible. Surprise. I think next season will be a good indicator on what kind of QB he is. They could have done better on the contract, but like I said, they were in no position to do anything else.
