quote:

"I've walked into four playoffs, and I've never had better than maybe the third-best roster [of the four teams]," Riley said. "Every other year, we were four of four. We had really good rosters, but they weren't the same. … I can't imagine that there could be a setting that we could build a better roster than we can here."

Maybe Riley is a good coach but not a great coach and that’s why he loses in the playoffs

Funny how TCU won with the 4th ranked roster

That was a really shitty quote. Brian Kelly left South Bend for pretty much that reason, but said it much more respectfully.

I don’t think the talent excuse flies at OU. They get top 10 classes every year. DFW is a stone’s throw away.

Are none of them on defense bc Tulane was scoring on them at will and FAST!

Lincoln may get that great talent there at USC, but I bet he wish he had a Tyjae Spears.

And OU is still recruiting better than Riley is at USC

Riley is a great offensive coordinator. He’s elite.

But his run at USC won’t be any different than his run at Oklahoma. It just won’t. He can’t recruit, develop, or coach defense and his teams are soft.

Have y'all watched any of his pressers after losing games? LSU could have hanged 100 points on those frickin clowns a few years ago and he acted as if 3 plays decided the game. Just incredible delusion.

That's how it would have been at LSU had they got him. LSUs offenses scoring in bunches, but weak arse defenses.

He can recruit top QB’s, WR’s, and RB’s but that is it. The current OU recruiting class is much more well rounded and built to compete for a natty then anything Riley can sign.

Especially once they join the B1G.

He'll probably run away to the NFL or somewhere else before he gets exposed in that conference.

Recruiters are now going to swamp the Northshore after this. Ponchatoula (Spears) and Fontainebleau baws in that game.

He was at Oklahoma. Oklahoma. People at the helm of programs like that typically don’t….and frankly should not….make bullshite excuses like that.

The guy doesn’t have the marbles to win consistently in big ball games. I understand he’s now at USC and they played Tulane today…..but it’s still the damn cotton bowl.

USC with a Heisman winning QB and you manage to lose to Tulane. Sometimes….people just are what they are. Looked like it today.

Even most of those QBs were transfers that he inherited. (Mayfield, Murray, and Hurts).
