Holy Cross, Dutchtown, and St. Paul (all on the road) are really good wins at this point. Should they be #1, maybe not, but they haven't played a bunch of rummies.

What happened after the “catch” by Holy Cross that was clearly an interception by Rummel? Did HC score after that? Play is on Twitter, really bad call.

ETA: They called it a TD. Wow...Rummel lost in double OT.

Agreed. They’re fun to watch! Just don’t think they could hang with West Monroe or Acadiana. Power rankings put them at #1 but I don’t see them as the top dog in the state. I’m saying that with a son that goes there. That’s just what I see in my time of watching high school football.

It was a dog fight Slade’s Freshman year at Covington. Not saying Covington can’t win it all. I was just asking why they were clearly #1 unquestioned with 4 weeks to play. Seems like the PR can change a lot in that time.

I would agree with you on that.

I don't think that they are a clear #1. Northshore or Mandeville could beat them. You never know. Plus, not tons of points will be earned with Fontainebleau or Hammond.

I'm still not crazy about their record and teams they have played. Covington will likely be number one if they win out but I don't expect them to go real far with a so so defense.

The shocker to me us how far destrehan has fallen with the type talent they have. I figured their offense would be electric but has been a dud. I can't get a real good feel for anyone in the state except for WM and Acadiana. Seems pretty clear those two will meet up late in the game again. I hope the dome and not how the power ranking are looking today and the semi's. WM owes them one for 2010.

I don’t think they are a clear #1 either. In my opinion West Monroe is the best public team in the state. Everyone else is up for debate. However, I see them winning out if they can stay healthy. Their power points have been earned already. I thought Northshore would be tough but they get beat by Mandeville. Mandeville is in a mess but seem to be picking it up. It should be interesting. Best scenario is they avoid West Monroe and Acadiana. Hey but anything can happen on a Friday night.

I saw some score reports misreported our final as 50-6... It was 30, and we barely deserved that. We got a late touchdown and a 100 yard pick 6 to make it look bad, but West Jeff gave us a very competitive game

I’m a Bogalusa alumnus so Chalmette is kind of a sore subject. At least the Jacks, Lions, and Owls all won so it’s all good!

Bog has hit hard times but it’s getting better. Just an excuse to hit up Rocky’s. My son is a baseball player so we’re likely to be there sooner than next football season.

Not a spurned ruston fan are you? I know they have been beaten by both this year so I assume you are.
