Evangel beats Sterlington 80-73 in triple overtime (3OT).

Evangel's point guard is a very good player. I'm sure he had a great game.

This was almost my upset pick of the 1st round.

Dunham will travel to Evangel on Friday.

2nd Round Matchups in 2A

(1) John Curtis @ (17) Many
(9) Newman @ (8) Jonesboro-Hodge
(12) DeQuincy @ (5) Ville Platte
(4) Mansfield @ (20) St. Helena Central
(3) St. Thomas Aquinas @ (19) Menard
(11) Winnfield @ (6) Episcopal
(10) Dunham @ (26) Evangel
(2) Riverside @ (18) Redemptorist

I missed 3 games with my predictions. One was the Evangel/Sterlington game, damnit.

Early Regional Round predictions:

Curtis by 15.
Jonesboro-Hodge by 10.
Ville Platte by 10.
Mansfield by 5.
St. Thomas by 15.
Winnfield by 3.
Evangel by 5.
Riverside by 10.

Riverside/Redemptorist could be closer than the experts predict. I also like Evangel. Very good point guard. That would set up a rematch of last year's title game in the quarterfinals.

Too bad when I went there we had a crappy gym

It's crazy how quick it has all went up. Sucks ZHS lost. Didn't realize we had the type of team to be in the top half of the playoff seeding. BM probably paid refs with their catholic league dollar bills.

Byrd pressed hard as frick all game, probably played 10 different guys. EA looked terrified of any pressure and couldn't do shite. Byrd ran em out of the gym.

23 for Byrd knows how to play.

Ouachita 89

They could've played that game anywhere, Ouachita was winning.

Surprised EA couldn't handle the pressure. Their guard play has been solid all year. I guess they never could get in a rhythm and start knocking down the 3's like they have all year.

As far as population goes, Laffy is way more centrally located than Ruston, but comparing based on population and not geography is probably way over any north Louisianian's head

Yeah I don't see the fuss. They're a 31 seed from a weak district that traveled 6 hours to their game, knowing they weren't going to win.

If we can cut down on our turnovers and pointless fouls we should be able to hold our own. Believe me were very familiar with edw

So are we. It's just stupid stuff that's killed us all year. Almost cost us for alittle while tonight.

Unfortunately edw is good at capitalizing on those mistakes.
