This. We’re okay but don’t belong on the field with the elite in 5A yet

for 5A it’s a good move. For 4A, meh. For 3A and 2A, seeds 25-32 barely have enough pitching for one game and definitely don’t have the travel budget for more than one long trip or a hotel stay

If you don’t think St Amant isn’t considered an elite 5A baseball program, then you must have just started paying attention to high school baseball.

25 years ago? Sure
Was really talking about this year, they aren’t one of the best 5-6. That’s what I’d consider elite

I’d say they’re one of the best 5-6 teams in 5A this year. Who do you think is better? Barbe, Sulphur, Dutchtown, West Monroe, Sam Houston?

Yeah. I’d say those 5 are a step ahead. So borderline elite I guess. Didn’t mean to strike a nerve lol

St. Amant is fairly characterized as elite currently. You obviously don't follow high school baseball.

I’d just say St Amant is an elite team. A team that can win it all. They have pretty good starters. Can go up against anyone. Of course they’re not Barbe, but they’re a really good high school baseball team.

I wish they'd have a finale after all of the brackets are complete. Line up the top 4 from each division and play it out for the top team in the state.

My son played against Barbe, Sulphur, Sam Houston, St Amant, Zachary….St Amant is right there with Sam Houston and Sulphur and better than Zachary.

I remember one of their teams in the 90's that had Ben Sheets as one their pitchers who wasn't even the ace of the staff. There was some guy, I think his name was Robertson who would just mow people down. Lord that team was nasty!

And of course Todd Walker could tell you about the '91 team that his undefeated Airline team met up with in the State Championship.

Ben Sheets was better at basketball than baseball in high school.

you are probably right about them being better than Zachary, but Zachary did beat them. At least that is what the schedule on geaux preps says. All teams are different from 2 months ago though.
