Many are wondering if playing FB is really worth it.

Well…considering there are 85 scholarships in football per team and 11.7 for 32 players in baseball, yeah I’d say football is worth it.

Everyone plays travel ball now though because everyone is getting a mythical full ride baseball scholarship. Seems like a lot of people are bad at math.

How was Hammond (SLU) compared to Sulphur?

Closer drive for the majority teams playing there.

I’m sure the fans could see the game exponentially better in Hammond. Whoever designed Sulphur obviously never played or watched baseball. Those massive poles block everything.

The thing about football and basketball scholarships is that you have to have freakish size or speed… baseball is more accessible for most kids who don’t have that but can develop a sweet swing or hone their skills in the field, and of course any kid could have a golden pitching arm

Vandebilt Catholic 10 run rules U-High 12-2 in the 6th inning to win 1st state title since 71'. Congrats to my Alma mater, go Terriers! Really happy to see both South Terrebonne and Vandy win titles after both schools suffered from Ida.

Thing about football is it’s a national sport whereas baseball is a world sport. Lot more competition for those spots, which are already extremely limited.

WOW..you do realize the college baseball players who actually get full rides are few and far between..and the ones that do are superior athletes most of the time... LSU has given people a distorted perspective of college baseball... college baseball as a whole, especially anything lower than D1 is not filled with a bunch of talent, it's essentially glorified HS baseball with less fans because the players parents/family are not local... Also you could specialize in something in basketball or football and play D2 or D3 just as easy as baseball

and you are full of shite. go look at the draft and where kids come from. There is talent from NAIA, to JUCO all the way tot he SEC.

maybe more like playing against teams in 5a state quarters every weekend. All the kids are talented as shite

not if you are not blessed with crazy size or speed. Speed can be developed but only so much.

look any parent priortizing a scholarship in any sport is dumb. Academic scholarships should be the priorty. But many many kids dream of playing college baseball and absolutely should chase that dream. PLenty of kids develop after high school and all one needs to do is go look at the number of JUCO players drafted and the players that go on to sign D1 scholarships.

plus way way way more schools play baseball over football.

as mentioned, nobody in college baseball gets full ride scholarships.. with 11.7 for 32 players, the math doesnt work and its why academics are so important.

but playing college baseball is much more achievable for most average size players than basketball or football.
