After watching it a few times, I really think his knee was very bad with significant damage prior to "the" play.

Probably. But the field finished him off. He didn't look right in the Cowboys game to be honest.

The bottom line is you're the coach and a coach should be willing to have the balls to tell a player to sit down when everyone knows he's holding the team back at that point. Shanahan didn't and potentially cost his team for the forseeable future.

okay, its all about prevention and protection. Clark didn't die, hopefully RGIII's career isn't ended.

You don't seriously believe that his career is in jeopardy do you?

For sure. That field was terrible.

With Andrews comments, his horrific mobility, and his unwillingness to go low to initially grab that fumble I wonder if that knee was already significantly unstable and that plant/bend was just exposing that (and obviously compromising it worse) instead of actually initiating the majority of the damage.

He was certainly jeopardizing it playing on that knee. You seriously don't believe he wasn't do you? Sounds like you just have a blind faith in modern medicine and one can come back 100% from anything these days.

You basically have to fire Shanahan out of spite

If you're a woman GM or owner, this would be your course of action.

After what I have seen from the return of a lot of NFL players come back from. I am pretty certain that RG3's career is far from over. I know it's all about the individuals body, and of course the rehab. But c'mon dude, you saw what AP did this year, Brady when he came back. You've seen McGahee's knee explode in real time. They all have normal careers. Honestly I can't think of a player of RG3's notoriety and age, who's career was ended after one serious injury. Unless it was a broken neck or something.
