Let me help you dickface:

quote:

A group of four players sent the NFL a memo in August requesting league support and asking for a month to be dedicated to social activism, not long after commissioner Roger Goodell reportedly had talked to several players regarding their game-day activism efforts.

quote:

According to Yahoo! Sports, defensive end Michael Bennett of the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins and receiver Torrey Smith, and former Arizona Cardinals wideout Anquan Boldin co-authored the 2,740-word document intended to push the NFL into efforts "similarly to what the league already implements for breast cancer awareness, honoring military, etc

Good to see Bennett landed on his feet after such a traumatic experience a month or so ago

quote:

For us, support means: bear all or part of the weight of; hold up; give assistance to, especially financially; enable to function or act. We need support, collaboration and partnerships to achieve our goal of strengthening the community," the letter stated.

Shocking...

After years of being a dedicated fan to both the Saints and NFL in general, I have not watched a game in almost 2 full seasons now.

The product is crap. The players are a combination of want-to-be thugs or self-entitled douche's.

Now they also want to be Social Activists?

No, just no.

Let's say the NFL said "here is $1M to go towards social activism"....wtf is that money supposed to actually do?

I don't see anything wrong with this. It seems to me they are advocating that the players/NFL employees get involved in the community and actually do something good as opposed to just kneeling during the anthem. Isn't that what you folks that get super rustled by the kneelers always say, that they're hypocrites because they draw attention to themselves while doing nothing to fix their own communities?

I don't really care about all the politics and activism stuff. I'm just here to watch football.

Why not ask their own owners and other players?

To me sending to the NFL =/= asking their team's owners and their own teammates. Im talking Michael Bennett making a speech at a team meeting type deal during the week.

I mean none of this is inherently bad. But how they go about it will probably be horrible. I feel like people on here hear social activism and immediately write someone off for it because that word has such a negative connotation in their mind.

Problem being that "social activists" pretty much have the same script for the most part, which is "It's whitey's fault" and "Give us more money."

They should agree to this, then troll them by giving the money to the right-wing social activist groups.

Can you imagine the short video clips of players that will air during commercial breaks, etc.?
