If two-thirds of my income came from outside of my work then yeah I wouldn't mind taking the pay cut. He gets 40-50 million a year from his endorsements not to mention the at least 25 million he profited from the Beats sale. His NBA salary this past year was under 20 mil.

More excellent points. Does anyone still not see how ridiculous it is to compare Lebron taking a paycut to me and you taking a paycut?

Well apparently someone does because Durant was the runaway MVP, had a higher per, more win shares, and a higher efficiency rating. So not only do the numbers favor Durant but so does public opinion. It seems that the only people who believe he is still the best are his lebronies and the mouthbreathing latecomers at espn.

So LeBron wasn't the best player in the nba in 2010-2011 because he choked/disappeared in the finals?

Was Charles Barkley better than Michael Jordan? Or Karl Malone?

Umm, he's a lot better at basketball than his buddies.

No shite, I've already adressed that. I was just surprised he would do that. Did you see that coming? I dont think anyone did.

If he wants them to take a paycut then he should lead by example. I can't see him making $20 million plus a year and asking Bosh to take $15 million or less going over well when Bosh has nowhere near the endorsements that LeBron has. Hell does Bosh even have any solid endorsements? I've never seen him in any ads.

So funny to me when the staunchly conservative Rant abandons capitalism and turns into a bastion of populist thought.

So LeBron should take less because "it's the right thing to do" and because he earns more on the side than Wade and Bosh? LULZ. Here's an idea -- if one of your coworkers is married to a doctor, go ask him/her tomorrow to take a pay cut so that your pay can go up. After all, you're only married to a teacher, and your overall household earnings are far lower.

I never said he should take less. If he wants to win more titles, then taking money is in his best interest. All depends on what he values more: his nba salary or his legacy from titles.

You said

Which is hilariously misguided. "Lead by example?" Why? LeBron's play warrants a max contract, while the play of Bosh and Wade (especially Wade) warrants a pay cut. How is this even a debatable point?

Again, I find it oddly funny that the overwhelmingly conservative Rant is all of a sudden favoring contract collectivization when it comes to the Heat.

Would you want to work/play with a guy who tells you to take less money so the whole franchise can have more success while he not only gets paid more than you, but gets a pay raise?

I'm not saying LeBron doesn't deserve a max contract. I'm not saying he definitely should take less money. I'm just saying that if his primary goal as a professional is to win, then taking less money would more than likely be in his best interest.
