There are plenty of players better than Kobe. He was great but he was also a product of great teams.
Saying he's a product of great teams makes it sound like he was only great BECAUSE of who he played for, which is just idiotic. It's not like you could replace Kobe with some other all star and the Lakers still win all five titles. The 00 team doesn't get past Portland without Kobe, the 02 team doesn't get past Sacramento, the 09 team doesn't get past Denver, and the 2010 team doesn't get past Boston. Shaq was the better player in the 00-02 stretch, but he doesn't win those titles without Kobe, and Kobe doesn't win them without him.

Like these guys weren't on great teams. Great teams in a league with less parity I might add. Lebron is truly the only guy on that list that has gone to the NBA finals with a bad team.

disagree on these point
i mean lebron already his his peak 2 years ago so we can compare to kobe's peak. lebron wins and there is no question to me
Which is why I said the totality. I clearly referenced Lebron's peak as the second best ever to MJ. I don't think you can argue that Lebron has faced tougher competition than Kobe. During his time in the league, the East competition has been bad outside of Detroit and Boston, and Lebron's peak has been after those team's best days.

the lakers early 00s run was in the dark ages of the NBA. the kings and blazers were amazing, but the NBA sucked back then
WTF?? It had the Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, KIngs, Blazers, Pacers etc. The NBA teams of this year are freaking weak. I've been saying for a while that this warriors team is vastly overrated, them winning 67 games is because the teams aren't very strong this year IMHO. Bash away.
