This thread is about how popular he is, not how good he is. Last week Michael Jordan was more popular than Lebron James, and we all probably agree that there is a correlation between Jordan's vices and his family tragedy.

But Lebron gives $1million to some kids and announces he is moving to Miami, and he's 18000x worse than Hitler and Creed combined. Simmons is right. It's weird.

I don't overlook it at all. I think it's part of the reason he was so successful. He had a competitive disorder.

This isn't a function of LeBron choosing Cleveland a mere week ago or anything.

You're right, it's not.

Because 2,000 people said so. Definitely legit.

That's a pretty good sample size, actually.

Um... they didn't ask for a fact, they asked for an opinion, so that quote's irrelevant.

MJ is still the 2nd post popular athlete in America according to this poll and he retired 11 fricking years ago. Am I not the only one blown away by that, especially given some of the athletes we have had in that time span.

Are we going to be able to say the same thing about LeBron 11 years after he retires?

That depends on what's being asked. For example, if the question was, "Who's the best basketball player of all time?" then a person's answer, even though an opinion and not fact, can be foolish. But not in this case. The question was (something like), "Who's your favorite athlete?" That answer can't be foolish. If I like a player the most, that's it. The end. How can you tell me the person that I say is MY favorite player isn't actually my favorite?

So it would be foolish for me to say Drew Brees was my favorite athlete and not Jordan?
