re: Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan

LeBron basically took the team picking 1st overall in the draft to the NBA finals. The player picked first was traded away for a player that is out for the season.
I've been watching basketball for over 30 years and outside of 98-03 Shaq, LeBron is by far the best player I've ever seen. MJ was great but his teams were loaded with talent. The Bulls did better the year he was fully retired instead of the next year when he came back.

Lebron has done everything with mediocre coaches; Jordan had some of the best coaching of all time. I'm including Tex Winter. He was the offensive guru. Look at the coaching Lebron has had. Even if you consider Spo better than average, he was still new to coaching and easily out maneuvered by Pop, Carlisle, etc.

Yeah, there was muscle in the '90s, especially on the front line. And there was grabbing — mostly because there wasn't enough lateral quickness. And there was less skill and grace, poorer shooting and ballhandling and less otherworldly explosiveness.
So please: the romanticism. It. Has. To. Stop

Jordan played for a team that came within a bucket of the Eastern Conference finals the year after he retired. LeBron played for two teams that missed the playoffs the year after he left.

Lebron would of been better than MJ if he had gone to college and spent some time there.
Instead, Bron bron will always be in MJ shadow.

LeBron is Magic Johnson with a better jumper, better ball skills, more athletic ability and more power. And you're telling me that player isn't the best player ever?

he best team he ever faced in the Finals — the Suns — couldn't defend. Kevin Johnson? Danny Ainge? Charles Barkley? Dan Majerle?
Please. LeBron had to play the Spurs three times, an outfit with a top-five coach, the best power forward ever, an All-Start point guard, a nasty, soul-stealing shooting guard, and role players that defended and shot like crazy.
And I'm not even talking about Leonard, who represents the sort of outsized combination of speed and size and agility that we now take for granted in this league.
Jordan beat John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek.
Twice.
I literally have no more splooge left.

A little off-topic ... but is MJ trying to look like the black Mr. Clean?
(for those old enough to know who MJ and Mr. Clean are)

So let me say: 5-for-19 … and five.
Those are Jordan's shooting numbers and turnovers in the final game of the 1996 season, when his Bulls clinched the title against Seattle. His teammates picked him up that night, as they often did on nights when he couldn't take over a game, which wasn't as infrequent as you think, at least not in the playoffs
I'm dead.

Bill Laimbeer told the Dan Patrick show that he would take LeBron James over Michael Jordan. Before doubling-down on his opinion by saying that Jordan could not have led James' current Cavs team to the NBA Finals, Laimbeer said he views LeBron James as a superior player to Michael Jordan. "There’s no question I would take LeBron James," Laimbeer said. "He can do more. Michael Jordan could score and make big shots and look spectacular at times with wild flying dunks, but LeBron can get you 18 rebounds, get you 15 assists or score 50 if he wants to." With some down time before the Finals start, we're guessing this isn't the last Jordan-James comparison we'll hear.
