There's definitely some new drugs that aren't detectable yet. It's the only way to explain what we're seeing that is at all rational.

Coming after a rest day makes it especially suspicious since that's historically when you got a blood bag or drugs.

Yeah historical data is starting to pop up on Twitter that this is the largest ever ITT gap in seconds/km. Bigger than Ullrich, Lance, Indurain, all of them.

I'm not mad, I just want to know what he's on that's making such a difference!

Y’all do realize this TT had 2100’ of climbing in under 14 miles. That’s a lot of climbing. I am not surprised Pog put 1.5 minutes into WVA and Jonas putting 2:51 into him over that course. I just didn’t expect that big of a difference between Pog and Jonas

This is the best time trial ever ridden in TDF history.
To put this much time into Pogacar in a 30 minute time trial with a climb that should favor Pogi is not normal.

As Lemond said of Armstrong's performances: "Unbelievable"

Some of the times and w/kg Vingegaard is putting up is just unbelievable.

Just watch Jonas' performance. It was a historic blitzing of the course.

I don't really care if they're doped unless it's mechanical. Surely they are going to xray bikes if not tear them apart to rule that out.

There have been rumors for years that inhaling Xenon gas provides a real boost to hematocrit - very fast acting and gets out of the system within hours. But if that was the case, every rider would huff Xenon and they'd all be on the same level. Whatever the new secret is...is it a buffering compound to elevate lactate threshold? (this is next to impossible) Enhance recovery?

Or, could we see these numbers strictly through improvements in the bikes?

Beating Wout and Pog like that is just crazy, especially the climbing differential against Pog while Pog is on his climbing rig and Jonas on a TT bike.

Again, I don't really care unless there are motors involved. If we're looking at new PEDs, and if they are safe, get those things out to the market immediately. There's no telling what clinical populations might be able to benefit from these things.

That’s where most of this stuff comes from…think epo. It was used on cancer patients before it hit the peloton. Most of this stuff has legal uses before it becomes a dopers dream. This subject is so complex.

This reminds me of 2020 stage 20 La Planche des Belles Filles when Pogacar Put 1:56 on Roglic to take the yellow jersey on TT last race day before Paris. I was there for that one and everyone said it was an unbelievable performance by Pogacar at the time.

Remind me, are you the guy who was on the mountain with the LSU gear that we saw on the broadcast?

For the first time in 4 years or so I watched Lance's show on youtube. He ran some numbers that blew me away - Jonas was a full 5% better than Pog today. That type of differential at that level is unheard of. He said that if you go back to Usain Bolt's most dominant days on the track, where it looked like he could coast and run backwards the last bit and still win, he was 3% better than his competition. Jonas was 5% better than Pogacar. That is unreal.

That was me. It was all the better because TDF was one of the first large public gatherings after COVID lockdowns and I was one of very few Americans fortunate to be there. Here are the pics from the thread. (WVA) (Kuss) (Pogacar)

Went back and watched the pog and jvg again.
I’m surprised that Pog went through with the bike change considering he no doubt knew the gap.
I guess since that was the plan and what he practiced but still that’s probably an additional :30

clearly decelerating, hopping off and back onto another bike..re-accelerating..killed pog.

i just cant imagine a climbing bike would provide that much of an advantage to be worth killing your rhythm over.

wonder if pog's time would have been closer to vinny if he had just kept his head down & his watts up and skipped the bike change crap.

aero bikes still cut through the wind even on climbs where you're not going as fast and who knows where/how/what the wind was doing during both performances.

Exactly. I think Jonas still wins easily today and something seems clearly off with Tadej’s body language but with a backup TT bike in the first replacement slot on the JV car before Tadej left should have let them know he wasn’t changing.
And let’s not forget just how amazing Pog rode. He blew away everyone else and it wasn’t even close.
Does he make a huge move tomorrow? I don’t think he can try to make a move on the second to last climb. Tomorrow and Saturday are the days for him to try.
Either way it’s all must see tv

Johan thinks the plan for TJV before the Tour was to go hard on the attack on Stage 17, which is a brutal stage. He thinks they'll stick to that plan. I'd think they would just mark Pog and that's it, but I guess we'll see.
