No casino makes money on the poker room & the people who play there don’t really partake in the other games.

They might open it up since the sports betting laws in LA are fubar for now but it’s last on the list of priorities & first on the chopping block once they need the space.

About the most profit they make off poker is when a guy brings his wife to play slots while he’s playing poker.

They are having a poker class right now. A friend of mine is in it. I assume they will reopen after the class is done? Who the hell opens a poker class and not have a poker room. I think he said 5-6 more weeks left so maybe sometime in October.

How many Sq Ft are Bubba and the boys setting aside for the Sportsbook? What size are the main screens, and how many total tv's will it have? Do they need to add onto the property?

Doesn’t the casino take a cut out of each pot? Figured that’s easy money for them.

easy money but small potatoes, especially considering how staff-intensive it is

poker rooms in casinos don't lose money outright, but they "lose money" by earning far less /hour than slots or other table games

They take a $5 rake and $1 for the bad beat jackpot.

It won't be a room the tables will be near where the construction is taking place in front of the old edge bar.

SFP,

They don’t make enough to sustain a gaming operation in Louisiana. I also feel confident telling you that L’auberge BR poker room made zero profit for 3 years straight & was only sustained for the “pride” of having the last poker room in BR.

ETA

Apologies,

One or two different months it did make a profit when the bad beat hit over $250k

They had the dealer audition from their class a couple weeks ago. Just sit back and wait I guess. Heard that if will be in front of the poker room.
