Here now, it’s nice have all these kiosks to place bets on. I wonder how packed it gets Saturday and Sunday mornings. I assume 10-20 deep per kiosk, at least

Its gone baw. I dont think they were making any money from it. It has been closed for renovation all covid and appears they will be expanding slot games and maybe the sportbook into the area. RIP Poker Room

ETA: First i have heard of the Red Stick Poker Room reopening. Promising sign

They probably havent been able to hire enough qualified personnel to have poker, or the approval from state police is taking longer than expected. This is of course if they do truly want to have poker back.

I talked to him recently, and he said no one knows. It’s just a sign of a disorganized poker room. It’s funny because if you go around the casino and ask about it, everyone will be eager to tell you a (different) timeline.

He did say he got hired as dual rate(half dealing half floor supervisor). In fact, he said all the new hires will be duals.

But if you’re from Covington, shouldn’t be far to drive to Harrahs for your poker fix.

Just more bs from slow feet dragging state. I was in Texas recently and visited a card room(no licensing involved). It’s was awesome, jammed packed, action filled. When you walk in, there’s a host who will greet you and ask what game you want to play. And if there a seat open(very likely), he will walk you to the table and assign you to a seat. And also, the promotions isn’t bad.

Yeah TX poker putting a huge dent in LC poker is why I quit a while back. I'm glad the TX scene is exploding in case I move there. My other option is the coast and they have poker (not great from what I can tell but OK).

You can’t beat the Texas poker scene. You have good action around the clock, numerous options of places to choose, cheap rake(sometimes no rake during happy hours), lots of TV to watch the game if you’re card dead, in house kitchen.

LC used to be the place when houstonians go to get away from high rakes of private games. Now that it’s legalized, there’s no need to drive 2 hrs to LC.

Just drive an hour to NOLA and play at Harrahs. Their room is much better anyways. I hated waiting 45 mins to get a seat at a table in Lauberge.
