Btw: bullgog95. I'm confused: if you are a bulldog why are you an lsu fan? Lol.
Only ULL fans think you can't like two schools at the same time even when they don't compete on the same level.

Not only does La Tech own ULL in real life sports, they own them on sports message boards also. This is almost too brutal to read.

How many pages has it gone without actually discussing, you know, the original topic?

Exactly, cajun getting his arse walked on!

Gotta say, this thread turned into a pretty interesting read.

And yet, despite all the personal attacks and whatever success they have on the field, the fact that their own fan base not support their program is indisputable.
Have a nice evening little fellas!

Rookie mistake. You can't speed down Alabama at 3 a.m.

TOP SCHOOLS in each state
The 2016 Best Colleges ranking calculates millions of statistics and student reviews into one overall college ranking. The top ranked colleges are elite academic institutions that provide a good value, attract a diverse student body, and offer an exceptional college experience.
1Tulane University
2Louisiana State University
4Louisiana Tech University
6louisiana Lafayette
8university on Monroe Louisiana
Damn ULL y'all can't even compete as the best overall FBS school in louisiana except once again y'all beat up ULM.
For what it's worth I support la tech. I have season tickets, I'm an alumni member, I wear tech clothing, but I also go to LSU games, wear their merchandise I support 2 schools in my state. It's not really that hard to understand.
I lived at home and commuted to college, my family all went there, it was cheaper (student loans), and all my friends were still around here. I'm from the area so it wasn't really that difficult to go to school here.

Is this guy really comparing our attendance through money? You know how silly that is, right? With the price and population differences?
Lafayette is almost at a population about 130,000, with 19000 students.
LATech is in Ruston, pop around 22000, with 12000 students.

Yeah.....his first mistake was choosing a school/program that chooses short-term solutions vis-a-vis 'rent a QB' for two straight seasons, as opposed to a coach who chooses to build a program long-term from within his team. Let's hope this kid gets his life straightened up.
I really hope you're not a Cajuns fan

lol....we are in agreement: Ruston has reached its ceiling and does not even support the program at its cureent level. While we are in a position to continue to grow.

why Ruston can never support a program any bigger than it is now.
Ummmmm - look at the proposed lower floater bond activity happening / proposed in Ruston:
Airport expansion to become a national primary catagory airport (we were shown the drawings - it will be fine)
Hotel infrastructure just northwest of the stadium across I20 - at least 2 full service hotels with a Marriott and Hyatt as the anchors
The new press box at the football stadium
The north end zone mezzanine and corporate seating area
The Technology park development - the university is already generating tons of cash off of nano and micro engineering and biology applications - they are in their 3rd phase
Student housing will all be less than 15 years old within the next 3 years 1 the last phase starts early fall
A new highway structure that will loop just north of Ruston and connect to a new proposed medical plaza
A hospital group is looking at putting in a regional NICU facility and women's center that will be a regional service provider
A new Olypmic sports park / plaza the City of Ruston, Grambling University and Louisiana Tech will utilize
A multi million dollar baseball facility upgrade - will be state of the art and capable of hosting a super regional
The Australians are looking a constructing a state of the art toll road that will run from the new airport to just shy of Barksdale
Banks are fighting for each of these projects - this does not include what their new mayor is doing downtown

So you only went to school in Ruston because you couldn't afford anything better. Understood.
The old expression still comes to mind: 'dance with the one that brung you.'

But again.....numbers do not lie: why does none of this 'support' ever make its way down to the bottom line of the school's budget?

The Australians
Beg your pardon? What do Aussies have to do with Ruston? Serious question, as I have family in Ruston.

BOT system of financing - Australians have done multiple projects in the states in the past 15 years - it has slowed down the last 4 or so...but they are still active.

I didn't want to be in debt for the first 10 years post graduation.
Some people have to work 40 hrs a week and still get loans to go to school. I didn't have rich parents or grandparents (not implying you did either). So yeah I went where I could afford and that had the degree I wanted to pursue.
If I lived in Shreveport I would have went to northwestern, Monroe I would have went to
ULM, Baton Rouge I'd have went to LSU, in Lafayette I'd have hung myself.

I have discussed this in other threads.....Louisiana Tech has the most sophisticated funding / foundation systems in places sans LSU when it comes to Louisiana public schools.
TAF and LSUF are very open and transparent - where Louisiana Tech (on a much smaller scale) is no where near as transparent.
Just like LSU, no state auditor will ever set eyes on their university foundation or athletic foundation. LSU is just much more transparent with their TAF and LSUF audits....none of that ever makes it back to the "school budget".
LSU and LaTech's foundations play by big boy rules...LSU is on a MUCH larger scale than Tech - but to tie it back to a "school budget" shows me how much a an internet warrior you really are.

one other fun fact
I was at an Audit Conference in Dallas a few years ago. The speaker was an aTm economic / data expert. We were discussing Texas public school audits / financing / budgets / operations / revenues / etc. There were several Louisiana firms represented.
The speaker went on about the size of the financial operations at Texas and aTm.....a younger guy asked about LSU and Louisiana public universities....the speaker commented that if Texas or aTm were forced to operate on the combined financial revenue of all Louisiana public universities, they would have to close the doors that day.
It is staggering what they do in Texas.....and Louisiana lets their "flagship" university fall behind more each day....it really is sad because I reside in this great state now and my kids will probably go to LSU or LaTech - so I want Louisiana to do so much better at higher ed.
TLDR - Higgins drunk / shoulda gone to a bigger city with uber

Ya'll won't win an internet argument with this shithead. His keyboard warrior skill set consists of asking the same questions over and over again even though you supply him with answers. I will say the insults thrown his way have been classic! Let's get back to the topic...how will Tech handle the DUI? 2 game suspension, or more?
