Louisiana Tech starting quarterback Ryan Higgins was arrested early Friday in Ruston, according to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office.
Higgins, a senior, was arrested for DWI and speeding (11 to 20 miles per hour over) just a few days before Tech starts fall camp. Ruston Police Department arrested Higgins at 3:19 a.m. on West Alabama Avenue near campus. He was booked at 5:08 a.m. and has a bond amount of $1,750 ($1,500 for DWI, $250 for speeding). Higgins was stopped for speeding on West Alabama for traveling 47 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The officer had reason to believe Higgins was intoxicated, according to the report, and Higgins performed poorly on a standardized field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of .119.
As of 8:30 a.m., records indicated Higgins was still at Lincoln Parish Sheriff Office.

He should be crying. I would be upset if he was smiling or had a don't give a crap look on his face. That is the face of someone who knows he may have just flushed away his last chance of starting at Quarterback.

So who gets the nod now?
Is it between the two freshman? Abraham and Belton?
Wow, kinda wish Holtz would have went after another graduate transfer after success with the past two.

Most likely will be Price Wilson.

Don't know. Fall camp starts in two days. I guess it's wide open for that starting spot after this. They have a redshirt sophmore named Price Wilson and a redshirt freshman in J'mar Smith plus the two true freshman in Abraham and Belton. I've heard that J'mar who is from Meridan, MS is really athletic and has tons of potential but is not quite as polished at the Quarterback position as Price Wilson. No need for Holtz to do the grad transfer this year with 5 quarterbacks on the roster.

Damn! What a dumbass.....BUT can't really "talk". I came very close to getting one on a work trip several years ago & by the GraceofGod I didn't. But still, Fall Camp starts next week...not what I want to see from the "supposed leader" of our team.

Yeah.....his first mistake was choosing a school/program that chooses short-term solutions vis-a-vis 'rent a QB' for two straight seasons, as opposed to a coach who chooses to build a program long-term from within his team.
Let's hope this kid gets his life straightened up.

You know what else is a classic. Kenneth Dixon breaking that 99 yard touchdown run against your pathetic football team two years ago.
Tech vs LaffyTaffy 14
or last year when Tech steamrolled your pathetic football team again 43 - 14
Tech vs LaffyTaffy 15
or when this year Tech destroyed your pathetic baseball team twice. I thought Laffy was a baseball school?
Tech vs LaffyTaffy 16
I can keep going but hopefully you get the point. Enjoy rotting in the sunbelt.

If you're driving around Ruston at 3 in the morning you're just asking to be stopped. Ain't nothing else moving that time of night.
