First off, let me apologize if I said something a bit out of line, I am truly sorry because that was not my intent to come out bashing ALL blacks or trying to generalize you as a person in a negative way.
I have lived in nola my whole life. I've seen racism at its worst and a group of every race together at its best. There's a good and bad in everything.
From my point of view and a lot of my educated black friends, they think AA is a joke. They think its a crutch used by some AA folk to demand a way to become a professional because they're 'entitled to it'.
My friends were all top of their class on their way into graduate school and are smarter than half the whites in the class. At the same time, we know our fair share of extremely below average students who didn't deserve a seat and eventually failed out. While those underachievers got in, I know 3 asians and 2 hispanics in the top of their respective classes who can't even get a shot. That's what is unfair. There are a lot of educated african americans I know and went to school with. I never view them as black, but as my colleagues. That's what I think we should keep looking at each other, colleagues, not race.

Imho you will jever find me irl or on here promoting people to hide or be scared to speak opinions. I honestly feel thats better than fake bs and leads to far more learning and openess among ones in conversation.

I for one hate that he thinks that way. Especially considering the fact that his side chick is half black and half mexican(?). I don't understand or comprehend why. Who knows.
But at the same time, I don't want to persecute him until we 100% know it was him who said it and if it wasn't bits cut and pasted to make it sound worse than it already is. People want to jump the gun, but what happens if it wasn't him and the tape was a fraud/phony? He gets painted like the bad guy when he might be just a senile old man.

A large portion of my family lineage comes from the Native Americans. We were here first so I say frick all y'all.
Johnson can go frick himself. My people are tired of the casinos. We want a damn professional basketball league.

AA is tough. I don't particularly care for it, as I have been taught to work for consideration for a job I want. I do think it still has it's place. Blacks were raised differently, and in many circumstances, what is natural to them is viewed as subpar, even if they have the means to do the job to the expected standards. I understand the anger towards it, as it seems unfair. I wish I had a good solution.

I think if AA exists, it should work in every minority's favor, not just one group.
Look at it this way:
Med School Acceptances from 09-11
MCAT 24-26, GPA 3.20-3.39; MCAT 27-29, GPA 3.20-3.39; MCAT 27-29, GPA 3.40-3.59
Asian 7.7% 17.6% 30.0%
White 12.3% 24.5% 35.9%
Hispanic 36.0% 54.5% 68.7%
Black 67.3% 83.3% 85.9%
Percentage wise, blacks and hispanics get the boost necessary, but asians get the shaft pretty bad.
It is what it is.
Other than that, F sterling if all of this is true though (even though he supports his koreans)

Can you elaborate on those numbers just a bit? Could it be that there are so many fewer blacks and Hispanics in position to take the mcat that the ones who get to that point are exceptionally exceptional?

The actual number of applicants are less in minority groups with hispanics being the least, then blacks, then asians, and of course the majority white.
I understand that a ton of asians apply and not all of them can get in (I attribute this more or less to majority of the class being caucasian).
What I find it hard to believe is the application #s are vastly different between hispanics and blacks, but yet the hispanics have a rougher time in getting in. I know 2 hispanics (1 mexican and 1 honduran) and they both had higher GPA's and MCAT scores than an AA friend of mine who got accepted and interviewed early in the application cycle. They didn't even get an interview.
That is what I mean more or less by unfair.
