It takes time and money to make money. And, such a league wouldn't be avoid just Donald Sterling. You think Sterling is alone in thinking like this?! You think the people calling Sterling telling him his girlfriend is on Instagram with Magic Johnson and Matt Kemp are paupers?
No, this would be about the building of a Black institution to build Black wealth. Black wealth has be built through the ownership of businesses just like every other racial/ethnic group's wealth is built.
This is just silly. All you suggestion would result in is black people paying the players instead of white people.

So it makes sense for White people to pay the Black players? So it makes sense for Black people to be perpetual employees?

Don't you know there are Black billionaires in Africa? Oprah isn't close to being the richest Black person in the world. Not even close.
$10-$15 billion is definitely possible if the will is there. That's not a remarkable amount of money when you get rich people together.
Yeah, I'm sure a bunch of Nigerians want to start paying for what is already being paid for.

I dont know when it became so difficult to lol at a dumb opinion and move on without demanding punishment but its a terrible trend.
more childish than him being a bigot to begin with
You cant record phone conversations in California. Shes n a lawsuit with him over something else fwiw.
But its def illegal to record a conversation unknowingly California

Of the 12 wealthiest Africans, I believe four are white and another four are Arabs from Northern Africa. The rest are black, but they live in countries that don't care much at all about basketball.
There are tons of white billionaires who are completely uninterested in owning sports teams, from Bill Gates to Warren Buffet to Mark Zuckerberg and the Google guys. I see no reason why African billionaires would have an intrinsic desire to invest in basketball just because American blacks are good at it.

Because having an opinion in a private conversation is not allowed

Not in the slightest.
"Childish" was your word, by the way.
But by all means, continue to defend DS and imply that folks should turn a blind eye to this

No, I'm simply ridiculing your idea that a bunch of Nigerians paying the NBA stars would build black wealth. Unless of course you mean their own personal wealth.

Well black people can't be racist
Nor do "they" get free speech

You don't know what these people would invest their monies in. If a bunch of White billionaires see the benefit of investing in pro basketball who is to say Black billionaires wouldn't do the same if given the opportunity?

Well if associating with racists isn't enough for the other NBA owners from a moral stand point, I'm sure the financial hits they'll take would be a good reason.

Who is to say it wouldn't. Rich Whites invest in White controlled institutions all the time for more than their own benefit.

I must be missing how the average white American is making a killing off the NBA.

Well unfortunately, his private conversation has become very public. And the "so what?' has been answered. Potential fan boycotts, advertisers pulling money, etc.

A) The vast majority of white billionaires don't invest in pro basketball or any other sport.
B) The people who do invest in pro basketball generally seem to be fans of the sport. I know Mark Cuban, Vivek Ranadive (who isn't white), Stan Kronke, Mikhail Prokerov, and the Seattle Hedge Fund guy who is trying to get a team are all big fans of the sport. These are all people who are recent owners as well.
Obviously i have no idea if Nigerian and Angolan billionaires love basketball on a case-by-case basis. But if their tastes are anything like their less wealthy countrymen, they are much more likely to follow soccer than anything else. Basketball is not really a big deal over there.
Also, there is no reason to assume kinship between Africans and black Americans. Those ties didn't even exist all that much in 19th century and they're probably far flimsier today.

Sponsors always come back. Very rarely after 1 month will sponsors not come back on a popular item. Sponsors will go away temporarily to appease si and pitch fork groups but always come back if product was worth it.
Its how in radio you could screw up get in trouble with fcc and then get a raise. Companies know any financial windfall is very short in todays society becaue people forgrt until tv brings it up again

The funniest thing about this whole concept is that most non American blacks absolutely hate American blacks and think they are lazy fricks. How do I know this? I work with a Jamaican black and another black from a small Island down there that I can't remember the name of. Both have told me that American blacks are spoiled babies and need to grow up.
